I am from the USA and sometimes I just do not understand the slang terms the Brits use. For instance, what does "dodgy" mean? How about "pants"? In America, if you are pissed, it means you are mad, if you are in the UK, you are drunk. Any translators? Thanks!

Apart from Dodgy the now defunct band, "dodgy" means not particularly amazing. Poor even. "Pants" more of the same my friend. Better ask one of us UK sartherners for cockney riming slang. I dont even know most of that there apple and pears spiel.

Do what I do (and it's even worse for me because I'm a non-native English speaker): go to the Dictionary_of_English_slang_and colloquialisms_of_the_UK. It's very useful. :)

What makes you think it's slang ? We invented it, that's why it's called English ! ;)
