With the daytime playlist, we're able to select tracks from across the specialist shows and bring them to a wider audience, hence on daytime Radio 1 you'll hear sometimes very challenging tracks, which have been championed by our specialists, as well as the familiar hits.Radio 1 has a playlist of 55 records - this obviously means that some individuals favourite acts do miss out getting on the playlist. However, if a track isn't on the playlist, that doesn't mean it won't get played on Radio 1. All our specialist shows have their own playlists & several of our daytime shows have freeplays.
