Funny you should mention this mate;)
Since my wee bruvver buggered up me computer - I started listening to a lot of me vinyl - went through the stage of playing all the b-sides
Gotta say I do like this track - but the voices in the background annoy me somewhat! Best & Marsh is great as well - hadn't listened to that fer ages either:D
(and of course) All the early b-sides speak fer themselves (except fer the instrumentals of course!
)
haven't heard don't do it in years but i remeber really liking it.does anyone know where the vocal samples are taken from?

Dunno where the "don't put your finger on the button" bit is from, but the weird backmasked bit at the end is "Your mother sucks cocks in hell" from The Exorcist played backwards.

I think the 'matt kramer is going to haunt you' bit is from some low budget british film. remember hearing that line at some point. something based on a boat.
One of their best b-sides!
I really like the sound of the live-drums on that one.
Great Track!
:D
Me too! ![]()
I thought they actually sampled Ralf Hutter for the voice that says "Don't put your finger...on the but-ton.." It sounds very German anyway, and Barney DID after all work with Karl Bartos on that second Electronic album didn't he?
That and "Best & Marsh" are two of New Order's best instrumental B-sides. Didn't like "MTO" (flip of "Run2") mind. That was just boring and featureless.
i think "MTO" was just a "cut & paste" job done with some material which they didn't use on "Technique"...

I've often thought that too. Would work well at the start of a set. ..

Exactly!! Just re-heated leftovers really, wasn't it?? Re-arranged in a slightly different order on the plate and passed off as a new dish. ![]()
