BBC prog re Italy-Ukraine match ended with upbeat montage of England footage including Beckham's goal with the ball shining as it moved through the air. Montage accompanied by some terrific songs including Cohen's Hallelujah and JD's Atmosphere.
BBC footy montage with JD

Yes, I saw that too. They used it on the England v Portugal day too. Pity they chopped it up a bit in the edit but it still sent shivers down my spine. There's always been someone in the BBC sports sound department with superb taste. Those BBC World Cup montages really are superb - especially for showing close ups of players faces in dramatic moments that they don't show when the match is live.
Maybe they can show footage of Christiano Ronaldo slyly winking after assisting with Rooney's red card with a soundtrack of Thieves Like Us.
Isn't this the THIRD thread relating to the same subject?

Still, it goes to show the influence of JD/NO...
I think I said somewhere else on here that I hoped the use of Atmosphere didn't mean that any England players would be 'walking in silence' having been sent off or having missed a penalty... Should've kept my mouth shut... ![]()

Yeah, and next time they show a clip of Maradona's dubious goal from 1986, it could be accompanied by "Touched by The Hand of God".
Thought the Atmosphere piece was the best bit of a nightmare afternoon/evening..
I am sure it has been mentioned before but somebody @ the BBC must be a massive JD/NO fan
