New Order listening to Community 2 and picking tracks! :thumb:

It is my great pleasure to announce that the producers' picks for Community 2 will be given by New Order themselves.

Basically, this is what I should have announced on June 10th, but due to issues with the british postal system, the CDs I have sent to the management made it on the exact same day of a second shipment I did 5 weeks later, even though it was sent registered. Meaning this changed the timing, we had to postpone this announcement.

Results of this? I sent a 3 packages to make sure something would go through, and Mr Hook got them via the management and via David Potts, and he took the time to listen to ALL SONGS and did his personal top 4, and those are the producers' picks for Community 2.

Since 2 were already on the winning top 10, we'll do regular producers' picks as well to fill the CD, but basically, this message is just to tell you that all the songs submitted for Community 2 has been screened by the band, I hope some people will appreciate this, and I am willing to get more comments from them about the other covers.

Thanks to Jack who updated me on the comments done by his father, you will have the full top 4 by Peter Hook in about 2 or 3 weeks once the Community 2 competition is over and we announce the final tracklisting of the album. David Potts also took the time to listen to the songs and did his personal top 3, I asked him to do so in case we were unable to get the New Order picks in time, but we might use those picks if we release Community 2.5 in 2007 (depends on the sales of Community 2 obviously)

So here you go... I'm hoping people will now understand more what we tried to achieve with Community 2, get the most people involved with the band to help out... so videos will be commented by New Order's video producer Michael Shamberg, the sleeves will be commented by Howard Wakefield of Saville Associates and Bill Holding of Morph UK (who did the Singles artwork), David Potts will comment the remixes of his song, video as well I guess... and even New Order themselves have some comments.... 1 year almost of preparation coming to an end..!

Congratulations to all that made it happen, I seriously wonder how we could have done better than this, maybe if the mailman would have been faster in the UK to deliver the package so we could have announced them at the proper moment ;)

I forgot to tell, obviously we sent CDs with the 68 finalists, not the other tracks. That made 4 full CDs of music.

Oh, Jonathan, Glasnost wasn't picked, the 2 picks in the top 10 are revealed on the Community 2 website, it's ICB and Ruined In A Day... the remaining two will be announced later, as well as the real producers' picks.

I'm glad you enjoy this, we've been planning this for a while and waiting for the perfect moment to announce it. Now if any of you meet Hooky, you can tell you did that specific song and he should know about it.

Pottsy is actually selecting the remix, not the video! I'll ask him to comment them, as tell us his favorite, but it should be chosen by the community.

But I'm very interested to hear what he has to say about yours, that's for sure!
