The guy who wrote the book is an American, of course, a professor from University of Rochester in the Eastman School of Music. I skimmed the book a couple of weeks ago and was very disappointed that my favorite bands are not mentioned. Surprisingly, he did mention The Sex Pistols, Siouxie and the Banshees, The Clash, and The Buzzcocks for the 70's British Punk Movement. No mention of the Manchester craze, whatsoever. Oasis is mentioned.
Has it gone too far if a rock class does not mention JD/NO? Both bands are influential in today's music. And get this, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are mentioned in their own section for the final chapter pertaining to music 1990 and beyond!
! They are not rock for crying out loud! Please, down with the teen idols. They make my ears bleed!
