Could someome help me clear a few points up, firstly did this record ever chart either in the top 40 or indie charts and the like. Also my ex girlfreind who is still a mate recently told that she has seen the 12" vinyl vewrsion of this tune going for £170 on e-bay. Is this because its very rare or because someone was getting ripped off? Cheers.

I think the song you are referring to is by Sub Sub (pre-Doves band) and it features Bernard Sumner on vocals. I bought the single (import price here in US, damnit!) and it is well worth it--a good track.
No it didnt hit the UK top 40. It is for anyone who hasnt heard it,basically Doves *Catch The Sun* albeit with bernard singing different lyrics. Ive seen the CD single quite a few times in second hand record shops,only about £2. Vinyl for £170 seems like a rip off.
Unless it's some rare acetate or something, well over-priced.
I'd be inclined to pay no more than £5 for CD single and around £7 for the 12".
