Just noticed that on one of the picture rotating strips at the top of the page, the name is spelt 'Bernerd Sumner' - was that on purpose? It's the pic with Ana Matronic - keep an eye out...

I work with someone called Bernard and I was taking to calling him "ber-nerd" until he told me that's not how it's pronounced

How do our Trans-Atlantic cousins pronounce our singers' first name: Ber-NARD (the annoying American way)or Ber-NERD (Queen's English style I'll have you know)?

I thought Ber-NARD was the French pronunciation, predating America by a few centuries?
