Was this ever released?!?!?!

New Order to release live DVD in June A DVD will be released in June featuring 2 concerts from 2005.

  • Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, USA
  • Hyde Park in London, UK

The DVD will be released on June 19, so far we don't have any information about a US release.

Just flicking through a copy of DVD Review, they have New Order : New York/Hyde Park listed as out 28th August. They do mention it was due a month earlier so it could be only a month away?

I thought this had thankfully gone away.... Why release a DVD of 2 virtually identical gigs? The whoops and the C'monn's are gonna be in the same place, it'll be like groundhog day.

First the Best of Electronic and now this:scratch: Come on release something worth buying!

They should at least replace Hyde Park with Glastonbury, or at least interweave highlights of the two.

Glastonbury was a much much better gig. Footage of Hooky wading amongst the security with Sarge bringing up the rear should be seen by as many people as possible.

Great stuff

So these two gigs on DVD arn't really going to be worth the money then?

surely would have been a good idea to include some more archive/older footage

I think theyve been pretty accurate with what theyve put out upto now.

The 3 16 format was a great start, one old concert and one more recent gig. Who can say A Collection and NewOrderStory were bad? (apart from the latters NTSC format in europe!).

5 11 was just a straight forward gig.

Its this new DVD thats going off the tracks. They should give us one this year with say,Pumped Full Of Drugs and the Hyde Park gig, then next year give us Academy and one from this years tour with the new setlist in place.

New York & Hyde Park on one DVD? Not really considering the NYC gig was shown on TV.

If Hooky or Warners are listening - we really don't need a new DVD of a recent show but instead a retrospective of TV performances and unreleased stuff from their heyday. Please.

The new issue of DVD Review lists it as now being released March 28th 2007

I vote for an official release of a Diggy recording, complete with us lot shouting over the top.

I'll do the cover with my Spirograph

It's been released on DVD in Japan only with slightly different camera angles, so a release in rest of the world would be nice too. But it's being held back due to Nippon Columbia owning the rights.

Personally I'm not too anxious to get an official DVD release of either PFD or Academy; the former is a good gig but because Hooky forgot his bass pedal home and because the Japanese soundboard recording has a slightly cold, artificial feel to it it's not the best possible release. Academy was partly ruined for me by the stupid '80s post-production; if they want to release that again they should remove all the bells and whistles entirely.

So instead I'd prefer that Toronto 1985 gig to get a proper release as Hooky was speaking of it just this year. It sounds great on the audience recording and the band itself preferred it to PFD, so..

I think the PFOD on DVD would be great, but i think it would be far more rewarding for the fans to see the Toronto gig - entirely new footage - on DVD. The setlist is pretty damn good in my opinion and captures NO in what was arguably one of the best years for live performances
