Does anyone wish that they'd release N/O's original version of ceremony on cd? i've burned a copy of my (encoded from vinyl) mp3 on to a cd-r, but its just not the same! imagine if it was released on cd, they could remaster it..beef the sound up real good...it'd be fucking great! :D (and it would make people realise how crap the re-recorded version on substance is!) ;)

Yeah...I can symphatise with you lot....

Recently, I put all my early New Order vinyl, 12", etc. into the Goldwave software to convert analog sound to CD...and burn them into CD-R...but they still don't sound as good as typical CDs...maybe I have a worn stylus....

Really want to have the original 'Temptation' on CD... but can't afford that Canadian issue.....

hat, exactly, was their reasoning behind re-recording temptation and confusion in the first place? maybe this is common knowledge, but i can't think of anything.

i think they re-recorded ceremony so they could have a version of it with gillian, becuase the original version was done while they were still a 3 piece :d.

as for confusion, i can only guess when the band were compiling the 12" versions of their singles ready for release on substance, they disliked the original version of confusion, so decided to re-record it...the same with temptation...i did hear that barney didn't like his vocal on the original temptation.

anyone else have any info? :)

I've been wanting to do the same with MY vinyl and convert it to CD files via my I-Mac Sound-edit software system. But that's probably expecting too much.... :(

Like you guys, it's vexing me immensely too that as of yet we still haven't got this original version of "Ceremony" on CD format. Damn!!! My "New Order Deadly Dozen" compilation (which features this version, plus the original 9-minute 12" mix of "The Perfect Kiss") has been put on ice for the past SIX years whilst waiting for the fuckwits who own the back catalogue to remaster the whole bleeding lot and bring them out in a much-welcomed singles box set.... Grrrrr!!! :mad2: :mad2:

From what Steve Morris was saying in an interview,Rob Gretton was the one incharge of the proposed "Recycle" box-set.When he died,New Order were too busy, while London Records could'nt be arsed.

i have a feeling we'll never get the original version of ceremony on cd. :( i think the only guy who could change things is hooky, as he seems the only one who seems bothered about new order's early material.

as for barney, hates all their 1981 output (and i read once that he isn't that keen on the original version of ceremony, as he doesn't like his vocal or the guitar sound, he prefers the re-recorded version on substance).
