Has anybody read it, is it worth getting ??

Yes, it is worth but you need some previous knowledge of the Factory history and its bands to enjoy the book (well, I think everybody here has). It's like a compilation of small and funny histories. Some of them are hilarious, specially the Happy Monday ones. :)

Thanks, I'll pick up a copy on the way home then !!! How does it compare to "Pleasures and Wayward Distractions" ?, now that is a book, really good with the best photos, Wicked .....

I enjoyed the 24 Hour Party People book. But if your looking for a read which is more Joy Division, New Order related, try 'From Joy Division to New Order' by Mick Middles. I think it was just rereleased.

Was it rereleased? That would kick butt, I've been trying to get a copy for years now!

I don't think camparisons are valid, as Wilson's book is not biographical.

Personally, I would like to one of New Order to get of their fat lazy arse and write a book/biography - but as none of them have any ego what-so-ever I doubt whether that will ever happen. Ian Curtis's wife's book about the joy division years is really, really good - loads of detail, anicdotes about the band which I haven't seen anywhere else. A real incite into Ian Curtis as a person - a lot more bonkers than I had imagined. "Touching from a distance" - it's called - I dont know if it's still in print or available outside the UK though.

Seen quite a few copies of it over here, but they were in independent bookstores that weren't located anywhere near a mall. Agree wholeheartedly that it is a must-read book.

Taboo # 7, I was going through Amazon (the UK one) afew days ago and noticed that it has been rereleased ... So you can pick it up from there .. I know its not available in Australia, and assuming not in America either ... So thats probably the only way ...
