Rare Tapes found

Hi, I am a DJ who lives in Macclesfield which as you all know is where Joy Division and certain members of New Order are from, anyway years ago in the early eighties I used to buy my records from BJ's records in town, because i was a regular in there I was always told of offers white labels and up and coming bands etc, anyway recently going through the cassettes that i picked up i found that some were joy division and new order and i remember that stephen morris and Gillian Gilbert used to take the tapes in, one of them is a new order four track called progression 2 tracks: too late we all stand 586 turn the heater on , Joy Division Ice recorded in studio at rochdale 1979 on side 1 and Live at the Lyceum london 1980 on side 2 and the other is a plain blue cover which has a live version of blue monday etc on it (top of the pops i think) If anybody could spread some light on these tapes i would be very grateful P.S there dosent seem to be anything on the discogs sites.

The New Order one is the second Peel Session's listing. Rochdale? Er.....nope, got me there, I assume its Ice Age? Can you give a track listing? Lyceum was 29th Feb 1980 where they shared the bill with Killing Joke.

The Joy Division tape is just called ICE with (FLT 4) printed at the bottom the tracks are:

side 1. which is studio Rochdale 1979

1. all of this for you
2. Leaders of Men
3. They Walked in line
4. Failures
5. Novelty
6. No Love Lost

Side 2. which is Live at the Lyceum in London 1980

1. Twenty four hours
2. The Eternal
3. Heart and Soul
4. Love Will Tear us Apart
5. Isolation
6. Komakino

The cassette with the plain blue cover is very crude and i think it was just put togethor by stephen morris at home

yes m8 it's handy living here, i saw stephen morris in prestbury the other day looking in the estate agent window, and I know where Albert lives near here, so i might go and see him, see if he can tell me what they are..

P.S. If anybody is interested Barton Street in Macclesfield was shut for a few days last week while they were filming the new Ian Curtis film, so it should be released soon..

The Still take on Ice Age was recorded at Cargo in Rochdale.

That Ice bootleg is just that though, a pretty ropey bootleg that contains some of the RCA stuff and some on the Lyceum gig. Someone was on here a couple of years back flogging copies of the sleeve, believing it was worth a few quid.

These had nothing to do with the band, they are a bootleg!

Is the whole Lyceum gig available anywhere? I'd be interested in it just to hear Komakino live. The site says it's the only live performance of it.
