Well, the NO Cup a few months back decided that it was Temptation.
My vote would be TPK 12" i reckon, followed by a few other closely behind
We all know it's a triple tie between Temptation, Ceremony and The Perfect Kiss, don't we?
Those always win.

There is no such thing as NO's best song! They have too many excellent tunes. Which is why we all spend so much time on this site, eh?
(I should add that Dream Attack is one of my faves as well as TPK 12"-the first NO song I heard)

I believe New Order get better with age.
It's close between True faith, WFTSC & Turn.
I say "True faith" But my favorite at the moment is Turn.
Other close songs are Round & round & Dream Attack.

This was done 'properly' 2-3 months ago (am sure someone can wade back through the threads to find it) with everyone sticking in their top 10 tracks, in order, and results collated accordingly.
Temptation, Ceremony and Perfect Kiss pissed it in the top 3 positions.
Am sure everyone's got their individual favourites but, surely, as a collective these are always gonna walk a group vote amongst us?! Three of the best songs ever written, IMO.
Temptation (before they started re-recording it).
Second place goes to the entire Lowlife album.
Think the quintessential N.O.track is probably TPK 12",it's the ultimate mesh of everything that is N.O.;guitars & electronics,technology,tune,rock & dance,Hooky bassline & fuck-off aural assault of an ending.
BUT....it has to be Blue Monday doesn't it,just because of what it is & what it has become? I mean,outside of us N.O. worshippers,the song is bigger than the band,nothing like it existed before it came along,so for that,it must be? 
Procession if I have to choose a best one.
Other favourites are Temptation and Regret. "Guilty pleasure" favourite is Krafty, because I heard it on the radio in a sandwich shop and I thought "This isn't that good, but I still love it." That's when I realised I was really getting into New Order (now everyone say 'Aaaaaah'.)
Can I change my vote to Ceremony?
What have you started....I probably won't be able to sleep now, weighing up the options, getting up at 3am to change my vote again and all that.

Are we giving our PERSONAL favourite,or saying which song completely sums up N.O.,as if we were trying to sell the band to someone who had never heard them?! I mean,all the songs mentioned are great obviously,but would songs such as Ceremony(a J.D. song),Loveless,Leave Me Alone etc,ie.songs more or less based around guitars,completely sum up N.O.? TPK isn't my personal fave,but you can't deny what it is.Just a thought.... :\ohwell:

Don't think Regret comes into the equation really. Recheck your stats; it was way off the pace in the poll you totaled up!

You're right, it was a distant fourth there, but it seems to be keeping up pretty will in this particular thread (enough new blood to make a difference perhaps?) In a bored moment I did tally this one up a couple of weeks ago but haven't kept up with it. At that point, TPK was second, and Ceremony just BARELY ahead of Regret for 3rd, though I think Ceremony has probably pulled away since then. And Regret did make the finals of the NO World Cup, though admittedly it benefitted from a kind draw there.

Actually about 10 people or so have mentioned it, though only a couple in their top 10's.

I can't believe that lack of respect Bizarre Love Triangle gets. It's not just NO's best song, it's the best song ever written.
This is so hard as NO have made so many great songsi love Mr Disco,BLT and i could go on,but am going to go for Thieves like us its a classic.
My personal favourite is 'Round And Round', I will always come back to this song, however at the moment I really like All Day Long.

Even though TPC was not even near one of the first songs released, it had the biggest impact on my entire music listening life.

hey yeh thanks yeh i was into joy division first my dad bought me the cd when i was younger!!! thanks for chattin 2 me cos i was feelin a little lost on this site! Yeh i love atmosphere and closer. Dad;s like you are the best cos i apreciate music from my dad's era. Still have trouble proving to my friends that the old stuff is always the best!!!
