Since I am a rss junkie these days, I will put rss feeds for the forum available by the end of the week, if not today.

Each forum will have its feed, and there will be a big one for all forums. Obviously, this is just for the messages starting a thread, not the messages in a thread.. this would take too much juice.

I will also create a NewOrderOnline Blogs rss feed.

If you don't use RSS, believe me, you will someday. Personnaly I have my Google Desktop Sidebar with all RSS of the sites I visit frequently, so having some NOOL feeds on there would be great...

Take care.

RSS is basically an XML file (if you don't know what XML is, don't worry, you only need to know it's a text file formatted in a special way) that contains information.

The podcast is one, each time I add a mp3, it does into the XML file and people who are subscribed to the RSS Feed (so, XML file over the web, they have a software reading the XML file automatically) will receive the update automatically.

Same thing goes with the news.

This allows you to include several "news sources" you visit into 1 interface, hence why the software is usually called "aggregator"...

So, in some words, you can right now receive all New Order news update (if you weren't Hooky's son, it might interest you) in your email software (Outlook 2007 supports it, Thunderbird supports it), in your web browser (IE7 supports it, so does Firefox).

Also, people running websites can use those feeds to put news on their own website... which I do myself, if you check the Community 2 website, it gets the news from NewOrderOnline via RSS....

(RSS = Real Simple Syndication, basically it's a structure for XML)

Here's what you can do with that:

Here's a link for a better picture: link

Then if you use Windows Live as your home page, each time you'll open your browser, you'll see the NOOL news. With the new feeds, you could also see the latest threads.

If you have a livejournal the NOOL "news" feed is available at:

http://syndicated.livejournal.com/neworder_online/profile/

By adding this to your friends list, you can use livejournal as an RSS feed reader. This isn't a separate feed (as some thought it was back when it was created) it's just like using lj as a reader. There are 40 people subscribed to it :)

I'm sure I'll be putting DR and BCD for my own usage as well.

Great work with all of the work that you've been doing on this site this last while. .

How is the astonishingly high Log-in count explained not that it matters, really. This just from switching forums or running two or more screens open at the same time. Leaving the site to another open screen without first logging out.

Any new generation browser (ie7 and firefox) will highlight an icon when you are on the forums.

So there is no link per se, although I will add them.

It looks like in Bloglines at least the linking is broken, giving me the dreaded triangle-bang instead of the proper link to the topic...anybody else having this sort of problem?

(I think other places solve this by inserting a 'permalink' URL link as a footer)

Problem seems to be the color in titles.. (html)

I will strip it from the rss once I get back home.
