does anyone have any info, photos or even a bootleg of NO at the orient in Ayr 15/4/1983?? its my home town and i'd love to find out more about it, other than the set list that ive got from here... (sorry i know its the wrong forum, but i wanted as many people as possible to read it)

I have a CD-R of the gig but unfortunately it's been Dolby C'd and from a 2nd gen tape. I'm sure someone else here has a better sounding copy to snail mail for you.
Absolutely cracking gig, superb show! Good setlist too, pretty typically loose performance, but they were in great spirits (Bernard's being Pernod ;)).
I'll put a copy online this evening when I get home - the CD is sat on my desktop so I won't forget!
Also going up tonight - a high quality Mesh and Cries & Whispers as requested recently.
Sorry, it'll have to be tomorrow night now. Converted the tracks, but can't make the space on my server just yet.

There is only one zipped file! ayr.zip
contains all 11 songs they played that night, conveniently numbered so you know what order!

old Monkey. Have just gotten home. Downloaded a treat yesterday. Cheers. But still unable to unzipp or Play the files. Gone through the properties and have unsecured etc.s. It'll sort out. Perhaps I'd deleted something vital the other day. This computer is going into the shop and was messing with some Files.
Also my mistake in reference or writing. 1st. File was fc-king saudade Gaius' (yours originally)momentofsilence and the new-order.net directions. 2nd I'd labelled as your Ayr -83.

seems to be the sampled W-R-L's from Confusion. dont know why its there, but it sounds good..
Probably just Steve throwing in one of the floppy discs with samples for Confusion, just for the heck of it. I also love his jamming on the Moog.
And thanks to the Monkey for the set, sounds better than what I had before. 
First time I'd heard that one. Fucking cracked me up. Blue Monday was a bit manic. If they played it like that today, no generic (non-aficionado) audience would ever want to hear it live again!
Funny isn't it that we all love these little idiosyncracies and fuck-ups, whereas they make the band cringe nowdays!
I can understand their moving towards a live set-up that doesn't take risks, where there is less scope for disaster or comedy like we had at the likes of Ayr, as they would rather play fewer big gigs these days to bring the coin in than several small ones, but we all still yearn for things like big setlist variety and an air of randomness to proceedings.
Maybe this October tour offers some hope in that direction, as they haven't played smaller venues like these that often in recent years, and we know they read the comments on here requesting more variety and less of the live staples being wheeled out every week?!

Cheers brother Monkey, awesome gig, nice tight sound to the recording too (live tapes so often looose the attack in a mess of delayed frequencies and reverbs), I'm listening to The Village just now and it's bliss to be able to hear so clearly the legendary NO machines (and meat bags) rattling out their racket tighter than a virgin mackerel.
Tell me again how music technology has moved on
