New Order are to help launch Scotland's Newest Rock Venue, The Classic Grand. 500 capacity on Renfield Street in what was formerly a PORN theatre.
This and more was from today's Sunday Mail. Doesnae say who, but I am guessing both Barney & Hooky will be doing sets.
Never thought, but the second Glasgow date is the 19th is it not?

Says in the paper the 19th but i believe the DJ set is actually after the first Glasgow show on the 18th. GlasVegas will know for sure.

Aahhh the "classic grand" its been years since I was last there....er....I...mean since I last walked by it. The worst thing was that when it was open it was located opposite about four bus stops which were clustered together and consequently always had huge queus of people looking to see if they knew anyone going in or out.I never did see anyone I knew going in or out but I witnessed two "Swervers" ie people heading for the cinema only to change direction at the last minute when they saw somebody.
As a kid going to school in Glasgow me and my mates would always look out for the exotic names of the films that were posted outside the classic grand."I'm not feeling myself tonight" and "sniffing heather" come to mind.
Anyway I'm looking forward to this DJ set thing,just one word of warning though if they still have any original seating from the original cinema DONT sit on it.
Anyone know the ticket situation? I emailed the guy from the venue and he said 2-3 weeks beforehand and that info would go out via messageboards/mailing lists.
I've not heard anything.
