what kit or kits does he use its looks like a mix between a electronic kit and analogue just got a yamaha electronic kit and some of its sounds like no have programmed it themselves!!

He uses Roland V-drums, dunno the exact kit model tho. He first of all kept accoustic snare and cymbals, but now it's all electronic.

And NO used a fair bit of Yamaha electronic percussion gear once upon a time.

Looks like Steve used a Roland Octapad in the 1989 Big World Cafe footage.

Er, or I think I saw it amidst all the epilepsy-inducing lights and someone's inflatable penguin. ;)

If I remember correctly off the top of my head, he uses the bass drum and possibly the snare from Yamaha's hip gig kit:

He now uses V-drum kick and snare as well as far as I know. Three different drummers said, by ear, that his accoustic snare of old was a Yamaha, apparently the only manufacturer to make a snare that sounds like a floor tom with a snare bed.
