- it was sunny. very sunny.
Intro, Richard Skinner
Sooner Than You Think (quite a good version)
Age of Consent (barney fluffs intro, badly, very badly, hooky remains motionless)
Blue Monday (barney's voice is now f****** shot, temper bordering hot to mild volcanic)
In A Lonely Place (Barney is behaving like a spoilt little chappie now. Stevie was playing his f****** heart out. check the perspiration stains on the cheesecloth)
Temptation f/w Hooky solo The Temptations My Girl
(quite good)
Overall, they were S***
Richard Skinner proceeded to ejaculate into his neatly pressed waffles. (a fact) he adored them .
They were held up in trafic after playing in Portsmouth the previos evening. Certain equipment had been mislaid and they arrived at Radio One studio with leass than 40 minutes to spare. But who gave a hoot? cos this is what Rock'n Roll should all be about.
Below is the intended 30 minute set
- Sooner Than You Think
- The Perfect Kiss
- This Time Of Night
- Face Up
- Temptation
note: 1-4 would have literally been the first time most of us would have heard all the juciy fruits from the low-life recording sessions.
Why do I know this? cos I'm Ian Curtis
Remember! this was when they (neworder) took chances, proper chances on the live front (No £32 for the same f****** set 3 nights a running, yall)
