I know they were written by "Joy Division" technically but, whos doing the vocals on the Singles versions?

Barney. Ian had lost his voice by the time New Order recorded anything.

Ceremony was written by Joy Division, and the New Order release has ( of course ) Barney singing on it.

Procession was written by New Order and again features Barney on vocals.

Facts:

Ceremony was among the last songs to be written by Joy Division. It was featured, as 'New One', on the setlist for their final gig at Birmingham Uni on 2nd May 1980. It's featured on the live bit of Still. As far as I know, that's the only version JD ever recorded of it.

New Order recorded it and released it as their debut single.

New Order wrote and recorded Procession.

There's a full-length rehearsal recording of JD doing Ceremony on the Heart & Soul box set too. Hardly qualifies as a Fact if its 'as far as I know', does it? CTB :bear:

Ceremony is one the best songs ever written. It would be certainly a JD classic if Ian hadn't died before they record it.
