Song Title Question

I remember a B side (i think) to a very early NO release that i really liked...i think the chorus went something like "your heart beats you, late at night" am i right. anyone know the song. thanks

It was an A-side, not a B-side. It's "Procession", their second single.

I think it would be more efficient to type in the lyrics in a search engine and search it than asking people here... Or you could simply look at the song browser on this site.

I don't have a copy with me so I can't check, but is there no markings at all in the run-off? Often it says something like "FAC53A1" or so.

Anyway, all Facroty authorities regard Procession to be the A-side.

I got one here, and there's really nothing in the run-off, which indicates Procession to be the a- or b-side...

But I think I can explain the 'confusion':

1. There is of course the 12" with EGG on the a-side - even though this has completely different artwork and release-date... (Ceremony had also completely different artwork for both formats...)
2. Foreign pressings, like the Portuguese release (V FACT 110-2), has in the run-off M-VFACT-110-2 A and this is... indeed EGG. Procession has in the run-off M-VFACT-110-2 B...

thanks much...as an aside..i did use the song browser before posing the question but it didn't pop out at me. i thought it was the B side because Everything's Gone Green was such a favorite of mine and one of the best song's I've ever seen NO dolive.... way back in 1983 or so.

Well there's the little matter of Procession appearing as the second cut on Singles, not to mention it's appearance in the discography on this very site, and the fact that numerous other sources such as Matthew Robertson's Factory Records: The Complete Graphic Album, Dave Thompson's True Faith: An Armchair Guide To New Order, and Joy Division/New Order: A History In Cuttings all reference Procession as the 7" A-side at the time of it's release, so you can try to get all technical about there not being an A or B scratched in the run-off groove, but you aren't going to get around the band nor the label's intent that Procession was indeed "the single" in September of 1981 and Everything's Gone Green was the B-side until the 12" format came out three months later.

And the 12" format isn't even on Factory, it's on Factory Benelux, so EGG wasn't intended as a single for the UK.

I wonder why newordernoline.com didn't come out in one of the first tree position in this search.

let's not forget that i was slightly off in my memory of the lyrics which is why this forum was so helpful and, partially at least, is why it exists... to answer questions on new order. so..thanks again.

Yes, Snorrimon, BUT it's included on Singles which consists of A-sides (even though they doctored Ninetee63 to 1987 unreasonably). So go figure!
