Crystal Transmish Regret Ceremony 60mph Your Silent Face Atmosphere Close Range Touched Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato Toothache Temptation LWTUA

Here To Stay Blue Monday

;)

[World In Motion to be included as an additional encore for Finsbury, but only if we've got results against the Swedes and Argies, and everyone's in a festive World Cup spirit!]

Well I'll bet my life on the following songs being played.

  1. Crystal
  2. 60mph
  3. Blue Monnday
  4. True Faith
  5. Bizzare Love Triangle
  6. Regret

I won't bet my life on the next few, but I predict

  1. Transmission
  2. Love Will Tear Us Apart
  3. Close Range
  4. Love Vigilantes
  5. Age of Consent (bold prediction)
  6. Paradise

and WORLD IN MOTION (maybe because of the World Cup)

Well, the opener must be Here To Stay then in no particular order : Crystal 60mph BLT Close Range Temptation Regret Transmission Atmosphere Love Will Tear Us Apart Heart and Soul True Faith Touched By The Hand of God Blue Monday World In Motion

and just for luck ... This Time Of Night(very hopeful that!)

  :)

I reckon they'll pump HTS out early in the set.

Can anyone give me odds on this happening at least once during the summer:

The inevitable Blue Monday intro drums kick in and Barney grabs a mike and humourously sings the line, "Caaan't get you out of myyyyy heeeeeead.."

Anyone?

This is the summer set list :)

Crystal Love Less TTON R&R AOC Ceremony PK Mr Disco All The Way Face Up Temptation

-:Encore:- Regret HTS

so what!! its nice to dream... ;)

Well thats three people so far with Age of Consent in their set list ... I have this gut feeling that it will be played ... And I won't be there !! ACK !!

They wouldn't have the bare faced cheek to do HTS if Mr Jarvis' prediction about Manchester being another wake is true would they?

Unsure yet as to how I'm going to Paris but I should be there - could I contain my excitement if they did AOC? Probably not :jump:

Let's face it, we'll defo get - Blue Monday BLT True Faith Temptation Ceremony LWTUA Crystal Regret Here To Stay

Perm any three from - Your Silent Face Atmosphere Ruined In A Day Slow Jam

  • so that Barney can get his breath back (er, as can the audience).

Perm any three from - Rock The Shack Love Vigilantes Close Range 60mph Touched by the HOG

  • to keep 'the kids' guessing.

Add one from
(a) Isolation or (b) Tranmission.

And perhaps throw in one surprise?

Er, or perhaps not?

Stick the shorter, sharper, rockier stuff down the front (probs best to use Crystal or Regret as an opener as they have 'nice' intros), fill out the middle with some slow stuff, bringing in the longer, dancier, numbers towards the back. End the 'set proper' with Temptation and/or LWTUA to prove you're still 'in touch' with 'the kids'. This. Is. What. They. Want. Then, completely fuck up the encore by playing truly shite songs (remember to moan cos you 'have' to play that Blue Monday one again - dear, oh dear. Well, it is your pension plan, after all.)

Ceremony and Temptation are indespensible. I'd like to see Bacon and Lettuce shredded from the set, dump the crap version of Toothace. No predictable Joy Division except for Transmission, No Getready other than Crystal(Lee Combes' version would make a great intro track) and Primitive Notion (Close Range seems to be shit live) something like:

Crystal(Lee Combes' version) Regret Ceremony AOC resuurect that 586 EGG and something else megamix thing Mr Disco True Faith (original) Temptation Round and Round Dream Attack Perfect Pit(for everyone else, more than me) fook of home ecstatic

Actually I'd probably just be happy if the sound is good, thinking back to Brixton, I enjoyed the atmosphere and most of the songs, except for the ones drowned in bass.

Is there no way we can by a concerted mass effort attempt to even influence their choices to a degree by email or post to make them consider playing at least one track from each of Brotherhood, Lowlife, Technique.

These seem to be more and more unrepresented live recently.. :( Mebbe they would like to get some feedback from their fans... or mebbe they aint particually bothered!!

I was just thinking this morning (as my mind does tend to wander when I'm at work), what it would take for them to do The Perfect Kiss this Summer? As I am a newcomer to the whole New Order live thing, it would make me a very happy bunny to hear this.

Do you think they would be open to bribery? A new tank for Stephen? A consignment of Ginsters pies for Barney and Hooky? Or should I start a petition? :\ohwell:

None of the above, sadly. According to Roger Lyons, who programs the sequencers, it would take him six months to do Perfect Kiss, which is why it hasn't been played since they got new sequencers between 1993 and 1998 !!

Mind you, it will have been nearly six months since the Australian dates.......I remain an eternal optimist :)

I'm somewhere between the jaded cynics and the hopeless optimists here. Inevitably the set'll be pretty much the same as it has been for the last year, plus HTS and WIM (which I reckon they'll belt out regardless of results), but I'd stick my neck out and guess that there'll be a couple of oldies thrown in for good measure (AOC, Dreams Never End, mebbe summat off "Technique"?) and, given Hooky's JD-set quote, perhaps a pre 18/5/80 number.

Frankly, if nothing's changed since the October tour I'm gonna be lobbing Molotov Cocktails in the direction of the stage. And we wouldn't want that, would we.....

whilst i believe what your saying and obviously what roger lyons has said... i would have thought they could have saved PERFECT KISS as opposed to dumping it.. lets just hope hes been hard at work.. if you look at my list you will realise i,m being optomistic, a change of set would be nice though.. looks like this will be my only NEW ORDER gig this year and i cant help thinking it could be my last for a long time.. anybody ever hear anymore re: reading festival rumour?

Yeah sure - we're booked on the 7.53am Eurostar on Saturday 25th May, returning 1t 13.04pm on the Monday. I haven't booked the hotel yet, the Comfort Inn Gare du Nord, but a twin room is £155 between two for both nights. You're more than welcome to come down to London the night before and stay at Sloppy Towers, seeing as the Tamworth/London express won't get you to Waterloo at that time of the morning !

You trying to rip-off the Cheeky One, Sloppy?

I'm sure it was only ~60notes a night in the Comfort Inn?!

There's madness in your method..

THE ONLY MAJOR VARIATIONS TO THE SETS WILL BE AT FINSBURY IN MY OPINION...ITS A KNOWN FACT WE WILL GET SOME DIFFERENT J.D TRACKS....BUT I THINK THIS WILL BE SPECIAL...I CANT SEE THEM PLAYING FOR LONG IN DUBLIN OR BEING THAT BOTHERED..(EVEN THOUGH IM GOING)...AND I CANT MAKE MY MIND UP ABOUT MANCHESTER....OBVIOUSLY THE ZENITH GIG WILL BE A MARKER FOR THE SUMMER AHEAD..WILL BERNARD HAVE BEEN BOTHERED TO LEARN ANY NEW LYRICS...OR WILL ANY REPROGRAMMING OF SEQUENCERS TAKEN PLACE....OR HAVE THEY DONE FUCK ALL SINCE AUSTRALIA????

£155 total bill - i.e. £77.50 each, or £38.75 a night. Twin rooms are more expensive than doubles !

Of the current play-off hopefulls, I genuinely hope you make it. If you beat Cardiff in the semi and then Reading in the final, it will be all the sweeter!

Ole Bernard has a teleprompter, so he doesn't need to learn his lyrics properly...but for the reprogramming of older tracks...hm...i'm guessing on "Loveless", "Age of Consent", "All the way" and so on...songs they could play without any pre-recorded stuff...

cheers :D

I will be suprised if its any different then this. But it would be a nice suprise!

  1. Crystal
  2. Regret
  3. Transmission
  4. Thieves Like Us (Peter said he would like to do this next)
  5. Ceremony
  6. 60 mph
  7. KW1
  8. Atmosphere
  9. Close Range
  10. BLT
  11. True faith (the dumb version)
  12. Temptation
  13. LWTUA Encore:
  14. Isolation
  15. Here to stay Encore 2: 16: Blue Monday (I wish they would stop playing this song)

They could mix in any of these songs for an odd show:

  1. Love Vigilantes
  2. Rock the shack
  3. Tbthog (Why they keep playing this song, god only knows!)

Dear Sirs...

could you please find it within your hearts to play the perfect kiss? That is my only request...I promise that I shall try to stay sober enough to remember it...and even if I don't, there will be at least 20 people to tell me that I have heard it live at least once in my life...

thank you,

Jeff

Well I will do my best. but I still have to convince Barney, Peter and Steve. I might even have to convince Gillian. But I will do my best!

If Roger Lyons is saying it takes 6 months to programme PK they should perhaps get another programmer, No?

It will be criminal if PK is left out of the set again. If the new all singing all dancing Order are now saying they are more 'professional' they should play the classics that their hardcore fans want to hear. Lets faceit, they are hardly appealing to a whole new audience.

If they can't get their arses in gear to play one of their all time classics we should at least be treated to AOC, DNE and Sunrise instead.

A nice 14 song set for Paris would be:

Love Vigilantes Sub-culture Dreams Never End Crystal Regret As It Is When It Was Paradise Bizarre Love Triangle Ceremony Age of Consent Sunrise Temptation Here To Stay (encore) The Perfect Kiss (encore)

Yep, I'd be happy with that.

Seems prices have gone up since I booked - got 2 twins and a double for 99 Euros each. Guess you were looking at the 120 Euro price?

The Rue de Strasbourg - just down the road - was a lot cheaper.. .

I reckon they'll chuck 3 or 4 different songs into their usual greatest hits setlist - probably dumping 60mph +Close Range + two/three from BLT,TBTHOG,YSF,Ruined,Atmosphere. It'd be great to see a few from Technique, but it's more likely they'll add a few JD tunes+some more rocky numbers from the early days.

You don't 'do' Credit Cards, do you? It's dead simple - you leave your c/c number and they reserve the room for you. Et voila.

Wonders of modern technology!

Not sure they do Switch transactions but check their site at comfortinn.com

Ok, I'm definitely going to Paris now, the logistics have not been sorted yet but I think I'm bunking up with Liv ;)

When I spoke to her she said that it was a seated scenario :nonono:
Hope they realise that there won't be much left of their seats after us lot have been pogoing on them :jump:

Dunno where you got the seated idea from? I thought the venue map suggested standing area then seats near the back, should you decide to sit?

Well actually, I'm supposed to be going with our buddy so I said to her that although I'll share a room with her, don't get me a ticket yet. She then said we had to get the tickets together as if we didn't we wouldn't get sitting together, as you had told her you would sort the tickets out for us I assumed that is where she got the seating notion from. I apologise. :)

This gets weirder - I said I'd sort out tickets for you?

The tickets are general admission, so even it it was seats we could still all be together! I do have an idiot-proof Franglias guide for buying from fnac.fr, mind.

Is it Liv's half-term straight after then, as I believe that was a deciding factor on whether she'd go or not?

Yep, Liv said "Jarvo said he'd book the tickets if I wanted them 'cos I don't understand the French on the website" so admittedly you didn't say you'd sort one for ME! perhaps I just dreamt all this - I don't know?!

It isn't half term I don't think but I've persuaded her anyway (99% at least)

I had text with Liv this morning - she is definitely coming. Has a hospital appointment that day ;)

Who wants half a twin hotel room then ?

The more the merrier. Don't mind getting tickets if you've got problemos but in the meantime, here's an Idiot's Guide to buying 'em from fnac.fr

http://www.fnac.fr/billetel/html/seances?codman=NEWOR Pick your tickets (all one price), Do Validation Finale, Put in your details (ignore the top bit cos it's for registered users only, just start at 'Ou entrez vos coordonnées' with your name, etc. 'Adresse Elect' at the end is your e-mail, which is needed for confirmation). 'Envoi a votre adresse' should be defaulted at the bottom - post to your address. Pick the cheaper postage (about 5 Euros?), Put in your credit card number and expiry date, Go to a page with load of French on it but you're looking to click the word 'ici' (which should be obvious). This lists the tickets you want and you have to confirm again, then you get some red writing on the next screen basically just telling you to 'wait' and then you should get a confirmation screen saying 'Votre reservation' and an e-mail at the same time.

However, they were made available on ticketnet.fr after this, and they have an English Language option.

My problem is access to such sites due to only using a poxy work computer. :(

I'll sort something out...
