New Order Song Titles

Name song titles that have nothing to do with the song:
example:
Hurt - What does the title have to do with the song? Procession - Again, what does that have to do with the song?
The list is endless Edwardo;)
I'm sure Marty's on the case as I speak.....
I'll kick off with Age of Consent![]()
Here's a better one fer yers! How about listing all the New Order song titles that are actually anagrams of other New Order song titles?
Got you thinking hard now haven't I?? :D :D :D

Hubert, with questions like that, it's really no wonder why so many people in this forum are drinking so much!

Let's see...
Analogue Bubblebath = Laughable Butane Bob, which almost equals Hangable Auto Bulb.
Ooh wait, wrong board.
By the way, does anyone else besides me feel strangely disappointed when a New Order song title makes sense? Like the band could have tried harder? Or not so hard?
Funnily enough, I came across an old review last night - I think it was Sunderland '84, not sure. And the review says that the track "I cannot stand the very thought of you" should be their next single.
But then says they'll probably call it "Obsession" or something!
The rest of the review goes on to 'try and guess' the titles of every new song played. Which is funny.
I'll post it later when I get home. If I remember!

Nice one - forgotten that Face Up was called "Obsession" on all the early bootlegs !

Looking at it, "You Know We Love You" becomes Sooner Than You Think(?), "Have Some Sun" is The Perfect Kiss but I'm not sure about "I Thought I Knew You".
Nice quote from Barney about Blue Monday - "We're never going to play that song again. In fact, we're sick to death of it!"

"I Thought I Knew You" - that was Sunrise wasn't it ?

I think you're right squire. I never used to get covers with all mine though - only have vague recollections of seeing boxed copies outside gigs etc.
Allen, Zizou, Old Blue - I recall that review too at Sunderland Mayfair: the writer isn't even credited in this article (which appears reproduced in the second volume of that hard to find book of cuttings :Joy Division/New Order - A History In Cuttings)
"They open with a newish song that should be their next single. Having heard it only once before at the recent Miners Benefit in London, it could be called "I Cannot Stand The Very Thought of You" although it will probably turn up as "Obsession" or something equally enigmatic. Whatever, it's simply superb, a perfect sequel to the explosive pop rush of "Temptation"....
And he was right about Face Up sounding like an updated Temptation - cos that's what I immediately thought when I first heard it too!!

I think that was the working title given to "State Of The Nation" as it was actually recorded in Tokyo wasnt it?
Face Up is sheer class :)
just been listening to a NYC bootleg where Barney introduces it as saying he loves NewYork cause the drugs are so plentyful!! he's so heavily into what he's singing that he sounds like he's crying all the while through it!!!
