HI EVERYONE, just reading through this months issue of Dublin gay magazine GCN and there is a big two page interview with Ana Matronic from the Scissor Sisters ... Just thought I'd add the section where she talks about NO

'With New Order they approached me and I couldn't believe it. I mean I have listened to NO since I was 13 years old. Im a huge New Order fan, huge Joy Division fan. For them to even know my name, it was totally insane and I couldn't believe it'

'Sadly I was not in the studio with them when we recorded Jetstream. I was in the studio with Stuart Price who was the producer of that single. Then I got to do a weeks worth of promo with them and having the opportunity to hang out with Bernard and Hooky and Stephen was totally incredible. They're really amazing people you know, walking rock and roll history. It was such a pleasure to have been able to do that with them' ...

:nono: She's the only female in the Scissor Sisters, however. I like a couple of their songs.

In a strange twist of fate, the Scissors currently enjoy pole position in both the UK single and album chart so somebody likes them as well, although not I as I regard their stuff as vacuous tripe for Sun readers.

Did anyone else about the disgraceful business involving Sparks yesterday?

Basically the Maels had been booked to appear on the breakfast programme on BBC London, hosted by the witless idiot Jono Coleman and the rather lovely JoAnne Good.

They were intending to mention their new single, Dick Around. Unfortunately Coleman informed the brothers Mael and ourselves the listeners that, due to the time of day, the single could not be played because of the title. The Maels were justly furious and said they'd be playing it twice this Saturday at London's Forum venue just to spite the BBC and mentioned it by name several more times during the interview.

Ironically Ceefax later reported that the Maels had tried to walk out of the studio mid-interview to protest but I listened to the segment again online and their feature had come to an end anyway.

As their previous single Perfume is apparently about something a good deal hotter than what it appears to be about and Scissor Sisters are currently number one, the Beeb are only censoring something which appears obvious. They did the same with The Stranglers' Peaches which features clitoris but you can hear that now in Tesco's! The Beeb have effectively banned the song from their airwaves, severely limiting its chances of success but hope springs eternal...

As with the case of Relax and God Save The Queen, Auntie banning it could bring it a good deal of publicity which it otherwise might not receive so it could be a hit!
