Warners/London releases and marketing

Something's been bugging me about recent releases or rather the non-releases of product.

Turn was mooted as the next single from WFTSC and was featured on Singles accordingly. It wasn't released. The Hammerstein/Hyde Park 05 live DVD was then trailed to be released. Again nothing happened. There seems to be a lack of co-ordination here: product gets the pre-release hype and then the release dates are put back. Eventually the thing is removed from the schedules totally.

What is going on here? Are the band having second thoughts about certain product being released at all? Are the items then delayed because other product is being scheduled instead? Are Warners not really aware of the band's wishes and desires? Either something is released on a certain date or it isn't; to set in train the promotion of something only to later decide not to bother is irritating and gives the idea that either the record company or the band are not really in control of what's going on. I know this has been discussed here before but I thought it worth repeating.

Could someone tell us OFFICIALLY what is going to be released inside the next six months and when please? The days of the Order/Factory not promoting anything have long gone: they're on a major label and one would expect the likes of WEA to have their shit together.

Fatory didn't promote because they cared, W/L don't because they don't care...

Like any other company W/L test the market place with a product. If they feel that the feedback is more negative than positive then the product is either shelved or terminated.

W/L are in the game to make healthy piles of cash.If there is not enough margin in it they won't release it.

Makes me wonder how Factory kept going for so long realy.

DVD release has been postponed indefinitely...

It wouldn't have sold much. Two similar gigs from the same period don't make a good DVD release. Let's have that Toronto one instead

Honestly that's not the kind of DVD I'd like to buy.
