Its a repeat. Can't believe Pills n' Thrills made it in at number 50.
The number one is probably my number one though. I won't reveal; another hour to go.

Really can't understand the fuss meself. Guess you either 'get' Radiohead, or you don't?! ![]()

Yup.. that's the one. Radiohead are one of those bands you love or hate, I'm afraid; no real middle ground. The only three albums i wore out the CD are OK Computer, Technique and Screamadelica.
I'm sure Radiohead fans must mobilise themselves en masse when these sort of polls come along. OK Computer's won about 6 or 7 of these Best Album polls over the years.
As an album I just don't get it either; never liked Yorke's singing style and can't listen to him for more than a minute or two before it becomes grating. None of the songs I've ever heard off that album have set my musical world on fire (or even warmed it up).
Nice to see Closer in there though.
Would've been even nicer to see Technique as well.

i suppose i 'get' radiohead, but the bends is a much better album than OK computer, IMO.

Agreed... The Bends is magic...

The Bends is pretty awesome. My favorite Radiohead album. Nice balance of pop and the more err... 'experimental' stuff.
Oh, and I think you spelt "White Light/White Heat" wrong.
and there I am thinking everyone knows and loves Blue Monday oh how wrong can I be![]()
Good to be different from everyone else anyway.
When I was shoved off to boarding school when young everyone was in to Wham , Tina Turner etc...I was listening to N.O and felt mature![]()

couldn't agree more. Just dont understand what the fuss is about
I haven't listened to all of the albums on the list, but I couldn't believe that Frank Sinatra and Madonna are up there. ![]()
webstercat wrote: what would your top 5 be though? would they all be No or JD?
Nope.. never had NO down as a classic albums band. JD ones are up there and rightly so.
webstercat wrote: not even oe JD or NO?
Yeah. not sure which though. I go against the grain and like Unknown Pleasures above Closer.
No NO though.
Which is funny, since PCL, Low-life and Technique are far better than anything than, say, Radiohead, ever churned out. ![]()

Err, what's wrong with Frank? ![]()

Thats the beauty of opinion, sir, and why these things go out to poll amongst critics and public alike. I'm sure if one only limited the poll to NOOL then those results would come up.
Nah, the beauty of opinion is that only mine counts...
Agree though that no one NO album really stands out... Whereas Unknown Pleasures does, especially given the fact that it was a debut and as such a real statement of intent...

Everybody i ever speak to who like Radiohead thinks the Bends is better than OK, so why does it always rank further up these things??
If you do like Radiohead, but you fancy a different take on it, try "Radiodread" by the Easy Star All-Stars. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Great dub versions, and better for when you aren't in such a Tom Yorke frame of mind. Fucking great! (as is their "Dub Side of the Moon" which is pretty self explanatory).
i watched this thing in blackpool, night before the new order gig.good entertainment. cant see how thriller or niv( kirt admitted it was mainly knicked off pixies stuff, yet no pixies in the bit i saw ) get above dark side of the moon but was good viewing for sure. ok computer is good,as is bends.hoped queen is dead would have been higher.
