Badly Drawn Boy (or if you like, Badly Dressed Beard) sees himself as Bolton's answer to Bruce Springsteen.

it depends. was he born to run?
Not so sure about "run", perhaps he was born to "munch"....? ;)
I mean, he's a bit of a fat bastard now isn't he?
I noticed this too when he played "exclusively" on a late night C4 music show (fronted by that bint Edith Bowman) that one of his new tracks had a keyboard melody which sounded very Run-like.
Personally I can take or leave him these days... Hour Of The Bewilderbeast, Have You Fed The Fish and the About A Boy soundtrack are all brilliant but I started to tune out around the One Plus One Is One album; I found his style was starting to get a little stale.
On the first record there was an element of experimenting and unpredictability in the music which he's lost and replaced with standard issue acoustic guitar/piano balladeering. There's only so many albums of him serenading his wife and banging on about how lucky he is I can take. Having said that I do have loads of good Uni memories attached to his first 2 albums

Don't know about Born to Run but he certainly wasn't born in Bolton
