So I'm sat in Manchester right now at my friends Kev and Paul's flat (Upper Chorlton Road). Friday night we went to Homo Electric at Legends, where they provide the music and visuals for one of the rooms. It's a sprawling venue with three dancefloors (two once the band comes on), and while wandering through one of the DJs played The Perfect Kiss. The entire thing. I started dancing, and I was nearly in tears, as this trip is the realization of a 20-year dream for me. Hearing my favorite song by my favorite band in the city where it was made - it's nearly too much.
Then, a bit later on the dancefloor upstairs, the DJ played Blue Monday. I was grinning ear to ear.
Yesterday we drove around a bit. I saw the former site of the Hacienda (now flats), Dry Bar, and had my photo taken outside the Salford Lads Club. Then, as we walked into The Outpost last night after a late dinner, the music was Bizarre Love Triangle.
Off to Macclesfield cemetery later, then on to London. I'm ready to move here.
