Just got to thinking.... When did Barney first start using the autocue at gigs? I think the first time I remember seeing it was at Brixton 2001 (which might explain why the set list didn't change over the 3 nights!). He was definitely using one at Finsbury the year after, but what about earlier?

No. Since 1998 gigs.
I thought there was an autocue during the 93 tour.
At least I am sure there was one for the Montreux performance - but I cannae be arsed digging out the DVD to check.

i think it's very interesting how in the early days barney didn't move on stage and he was skinny. now he moves around a lot and he's not so skinny.

Why does Barney needs auto cue? Can't he remember his own lyrics? Is it because all the drugs from all these years screwed up his memory? Does anyone know what's up with that? I think it's the quantity of songs, can you remember the english essay you did 10, 15, 20 years ago for example? word for word. no me neither .
I know its easy as he wrote the lyrics but it can be hard remembering stuff , even more so now the old boy is in his 50's

Yes, basically. Memory is impaired by long-term pill-popping, and Bernard's recall does seem to be rather severe at times. Mind you, I don't think it is restricted to him. Can any of us remember with absolute clarity things that we did 20 years ago?

I would say I that I could recall about 95% of all the lyrics, but unlike Barney Ive been listening to their music pretty much every day for 19 years.
