Has anyone heard any bloody radio station in Australia play it yet?

Triple J's normally all over anything New Order, but not this one? It's released on Monday and there's no mention of it on their 2002 new releases program.

It's destined for a sorry chart performance at this rate. Perhaps it'll get a few rotations when (and if) the movie gets released here.

Not that I listen to the radio much, but I haven't heard it on the radio either ... A little surprising since Crystal made it into Tripple JJJs hottest 100.

Rage have been good though ... Its been played both Saturday and Sunday for the last three weeks. Even played twice on the same night afew times ..

But yeah, I can't see a top 20 position coming ... heres hoping though ...

Nope, haven't heard it on the radio either. Anyone know anything about the movie release date in Aus yet? CTB

Hey RandyBear, speaking of movie releases, are you planning on being one of the sad sacks attending a midnight showing of Episode II?

Of course. In fact, I already have my tickets  CTB

"Ticket_s_" implies that you have friends RandyBear. Interesting.

;)

If you're going to go dressed as Luke in White Moisture Farm Casuals again, why don't you take your dog, force an empty KFC chicken bucket on his head and call him R5-D4.

...in the same way that your messages imply you have at least a rudimentary grasp of grammar?

BTW, you seem to know a bit about the original Star Wars - I wasn't aware it had opened in Perth yet ;) CTB

I wouldn't know, I live in Kalgoorlie.

Battlestar Galactica: Invasion Earth has just opened to record crowds at the Old Digger. Apparently they're running it with 'Benji' for the school hols. Should be a cracker.

And leave my grammar out of this. She's frail but still bakes me cookies.

How are the Saints going anyhow? Were they a few players short on the paddock on Sunday?

Heard they signed a new fullback, a Korean guy called Why Mee..

Mitch, Sun, Tan, Matt, Amy, Randy, Pillar, Chris Z (whatever happened to this dude?):

Anyone picked up the local release yet? Or heard of any 12", promos or DVD releases?

Or news of the movie?

Chris Z has got a headache, and is currently getting some air and a drink of water. But don't worry, he'll be back to give us a 2000 word essay on the whole experience soon.

Not picked it up yet, young Master Charge - job for tomorrow, my first day off in 10 days (!). Wouldn't have a clue about the film here either - no bastard has a clue as far as I can tell. Cafe Mitch - thankyou for your kind observation regarding my arse. It is indeed smart, so much so it's writing my thesis for me. CTB

She was in a full metal bra ensemble on Friday night! Strangely attractive for a lisping 40-something midget. Actually she rocked, despite only being allowed to do two songs. Bet you can't guess which....

Picked up the Soundtrack and HTS single today at JB - must say the soundtrack is fantastic (despite having Voodoo Ray on it), as is HTS single. Particularly like the Instrumental, Karaoke-stylee version, which is sure to make an appearance as backing music for some footy highlights package on channel 9 (..which will NOT include St. Kilda, Depthy, before you jump in - yes, I know they're shit but I still love them) CTB

The soundtrack's available now in some places over here, Ian.. I've got one on hold in Subiaco.

You should stop 'buggering' all of those helpless shop attendants, at any rate.

;)

RandyBear, Voodoo Ray's a nice little slice of primitive techno nostalgia, innit? Agreed the HTS Instrumental is a winner however. The 12" version's doing some heavy rotations on the wheels of steel at Club Depthcharge as we speak.

Da house is jumpin'.

Not liking Voodoo Ray is criminal! first and possibly still best house track I ever bought. I agree on the extended instrumental it's my favourite mix still, just wish it used a bit of the vocal.

No accounting for taste, is there Mr Hanky? Voodoo Ray is not too far from Guru Josh minus the saxamophone IMHO. Oh ok, maybe it's not all that bad. By the way, wouldn't including a bit of vocal on the instrumental mix of HTS cease to make it instrumental? CTB

I had actually thought of that, but would be a small price to pay, having to change the title,

I haven't yet had the chance to pick up the CD/DVD. But i did enquire at the Lumiere (independent cinema in melbourne) which would be the cinema most likley to pick it up, and they said there was no immediate plans for an aussie release that they knew of, but the guy did seem keen to screen it when they could.

Try Jay's Jukebox. I think he ordered in a few copies.

It was played on JJJ on Sunday night in Richard's 2002 show. it sounded good. Hopefully we get the movie soon....

My copy arrived on Tuesday ... Had it ordered on Chaosmusic because I wasn't sure which stores would have it and not have it around here ... I didn't think the soundtrack was out yet but now I'll have to get up off my arse and spend my afternoon off looking for it ...

To anyone who has Foxtel here, was just looking through next months program and Channel V are screening a one hour show featuring live BDO clips from New Order, Garbage and Jurrasic 5 mid next month ... Can't remember the date or time .. I'll check again later ...

Am i right in saying that this hasn't cracked the top 50?

Correct weight.

New Order fail where the likes of Oasis and the friggin Goo Goo Dolls succeed this week. Couldn't even crack the Top 50 their first week in.

Abject chart failure as predicted in this thread above.

A dismal job by Warner AU really. There was so little airplay or promotion for HTS which is bizarre considering the publicity the band were riding here after the success of Crystal, 60 mph and the BDO Tour.

Even JJJ have been sparing in their airing of the tune. Perhaps it needed the synergy of the film's release to give it a chance. Oh well.

Interestingly, when I visited a few of the chain stores in search of the CD single, the two largest outlets in the city were out of stock. Guess it never had a chance with commercial buying like that.

:\pimp2:

Thats pretty disapointing news .. Wonder if its in the alternative charts !

Its very odd that it hasn't been pushed harder by Warner, because its certianly got more "chart potential" than crystal an 60mph, because its more poppy than either of those two.

Just to give you an idea of how well its going in Australia. I was listening to the radio 2 days ago when the DJ said that they where about to play New Order's latest song. Guess what they played? 60mph. HTS has been out for over a month here yet it has had no radio play. People still don't know it exists.
