should we create a TV Show section ? — Forum Archive

Sorry if it was discussed before but I think it would be nice to create in the 'LIVE' section a specific 'TV show' section.

I have in mind, in particular, the 2005 Canal+ session. Songs have been played live and it's sad to see that this show doesn't appear in the Live section (and anywhere else) :( The date & the setlist are known. For exemple, an excellent version of Temptation was played but not broadcasted.

I think about the 1984 BBC session, the Joy Division at Something Else, the TOTPs too...

Many TV show could be listed in this section.

What do you think ?

That makes sense to me.

If not, then tracks performed live on a particular show should be included in the "live" tally.

This was a session which was broadcast live simultaneously on BBC 2 and Radio 1. (John Sludden)
As has been stated, this was a live TV performance. They were on a UK tour at the time, and had opted to stay overnight in the West Country before setting off for London to do the show. It was a Bank Holiday weekend and they got stuck in traffic and only arrived at the studio 30 minutes before transmission. Also they had some equipment failures that meant a re-think of the planned set-list. As you can see, this had an effect on the performance. As did the fact that Barney is speeding his tits off... (Old Blue)

Not sure you're date for Big World Cafe is correct, it was recorded Tuesday 21st of Feb but don't think it was broadcast for some time later (concerned in case I was filmed after throwing a 3 day sickie - back strain!!). In any case 25 Feb was a saturday and BWC was a sunday prog was it not?

Typo - it should read 26th of Feb.

Twas definitely aired at the end of Feb, cos we watched it repeatedly before my first gig on 26/3 that year

Strangely photo stills from this seem to have been used on the cover of the Radio One Live album which was actually Glastonbury. Still.

Think we spoke about how easy it is to get an inflatable past security, and that you had a dastardly plan to fuck up Barneys guitar solo during Run by lobbing it directly at his guitar. This plan was executed ruthlessly, but without resulting in a major bum note.

I too am on the front cover of the Radio One album as a shade of blue.

You are indeed correct matey, I have it on video but must have been having a busy day at work

The dates have come from a variety of sources (mainly bootleg videos for the earlier one's) most of the vids from 87 onwards myself and John have recorded.
