That list doesnt include all those horrendous acoustic versions you always see on youtube posted by some guy with a beard and sandals.

Right... But JD wasn't a pop band. It was a macabre morose moody ensemble doomed to despaire in impasse. They weren't meant to be the Beatles or Hello Goodbye or whatever...

Yes they were. 'Pop' means 'Popular music of the day'.
Try telling me that Joy Division weren't popular...
'Pop' is then subdivided into all different sections of music - from punk to folk to rap...

Probably once on the wikipedia entry, but deleted after because wikipedia discourages entries regarding trivia. That's why the reference to so-and-so who had some ridiculous tattoo saying LWTUA was nicely removed.

the frank sidebottom one isn't really a version of it, it's from a medley of machester songs including how i wrote elastic man, everyday is like sunday & a few others starts witha bit from love will tear us apart - it;s on you tube.
