I think this has to rank right up there in the "Barney's biggest mistakes while playing guitar live" hall of fame.

Perhaps the only bigger mistake would be the shorts he's wearing.

And what is this session from? I've never seen any of this footage before and suddenly about five videos from it popped up on you tube

This was a session which was broadcast live simultaneously on BBC 2 and Radio 1 on August 25th 1984. Songs played - Sooner Than You Think, In A Lonely Place, Age Of Consent, Blue Monday and Temptation.

it was a bit of a schoolboy error.

but (partly due to the speed) if you look at his anger after making that cock up... its followed by his best guitar performance...... in my opinion anyway.

He gets pretty angry with his mic too...

Probably it's all his shorts fault.

what an absolutley thumping version of perfect kiss they are playing live. All I want for xmas is a stdio version of the remodelled perfect kiss, or a really decent recording of a live version. Really hope the next live dvd (if there ever is one) features a cleaned up version of pk. Hey, a girl can dream.

not really barney's fault or a guitar cock-up, but during the 1987 denver red rocks performance (thanks to tim for getting it to me) it pissed down and all the equipment stopped working. a bit of a problem for all involved.

And I suppose this would be the "bizarro" version of that performance of Age of Consent.

Perfect guitar and some proper trousers.

Those date, informations & setlist could be added in the future 'TV Show' section...

As has been stated, this was a live TV performance. They were on a UK tour at the time, and had opted to stay overnight in the West Country before setting off for London to do the show. It was a Bank Holiday weekend and they got stuck in traffic and only arrived at the studio 30 minutes before transmission. Also they had some equipment failures that meant a re-think of the planned set-list. As you can see, this had an effect on the performance. As did the fact that Barney is speeding his tits off...
