Just to keep everyone in the picture, the current total raised (made up of merch sales, auction items and a few donations - sincere thanks to all) stands at £980, so if someone would like to cough up twenty quid then we will be at the grand. This is before we get any companies to contribute.

The total doesn't include anything from the event itself yet, we've contacted the ULU and told them that their charges are ridiculous, and that they should look at reducing them considerably (and refunding the £490 they deducted for no reason).

I've got soundboard recordings of Pottsy, Digital and Re: Order from the event, and will be asking each band to have a listen to their performance and pick three songs for inclusion on the compilation album I intend to put out. If the bands don't wish to do this, then there will be no further fundraising, instead the shows will just accidentally get leaked and no charities will benefit. Pottsy's set is fabulous, really tight and really good sound, and included a real surprise too.

Well, if you can create the 36 hour day.....I don't have time nor postal access to become the Community 2 UK distribution centre!

Email the details Tim; I might be able to help.

Fair enough.

Too bad though, because all the sales from those ones would have gone to the cause (on NOOL day I mean)... we should ask UPS for a donation :mad4:

Just got the CDs from Alex, will have a listen to them and see what the best tracks are, obviously the other guys get a say too, so copies will go to Pottsy, Flight and Re: Order to see what they wish to include (if anything).

Legal situation re. ULU is that they are on holiday until 11th Jan, I expect some speedy resolution after that.

I'm going to send a cheque each to the NSPCC and Cancer Research next week as the first payment from the Blue Saturday proceeds, hopefully there will be quite a bit more to add to that in the near future.

Aw crap, stage fright time for me then

JRJR will LOVE it :evil4:

Well done Tim, seriously I'd have walked away when ULU started being cocks.

Cheques to NSPCC and Cancer Research will go this coming Tuesday. First cheques will be for £350 each, I'm holding around £350 back just in case we lose to ULU, and these cheques will be followed by further ones once the CDs are selling, plus hopefully the money ULU nicked.

Obviously we'd have loved more to be going to the charities, but it's still a start, there will be at least as much again in the near future, and it's more than they would have got if Alex had whored himself on Canal Street!

Right, the first payments have been made to the NSPCC and Cancer Research, for £350 each (this amount will go up with subsequent payments when we get the ULU £350 sorted out plus any CD sales and further donations). I will post PDFs of the donation receipts when I get home (did online payments rather than sending cheques in the end).

Once again, sincere thanks to all those who gave so much time, effort and money to the event.

Just to keep anyone who cares in the picture, I have had to engage the top brass at ULU now, as they are refusing to budge from their farcical position. Basically what they've done is calculate the balance from gross costs minus net income, despite the fact that they've reduced the bankable income because they used some of it to pay some of the expenses! Classic case of double counting, but the venue manager just can't see it! She can't accept that once an expense has been paid they need a net expenses figure from which to calculate the total sum. It's crucial, as they allege I owe them £343, whereas in fact they owe the charities £146. The "missing" £490 was used to pay some of the expenses on the night, so those expenses cannot be counted as unpaid!

They should be ashamed of themselves strictly based on the fact they told us we'd have 500 students to start with... :nonono:

Tim, I believe we have an unfortunate opportunity to put the link to gather more funds with Tony Wilson's bad news... are you still taking donations or is it too late?

I could post the paypal link with the top news.

All donations gratefully accepted still - no positive news yet from ULU on whether or not they are going to give us the money they owe us (£153). They are getting very close to getting sued.
