Or maybe Johnny. All this Curve chat led me to dig out my Curve collection, and I had forgotten that the extended version of "Fait Accompli" includes a pretty blatant guitar sample from Electronic's "Feel Every Beat." So all of these Curve post are on-topic after all.

My question...whom do Barney and Johnny bite? I'm pretty sure I've identified the little vocal snippet in "Second Nature" (what's your guess?), but I'm still trying to catch the one in "Like No Other." Help a brother out.

aiiieeee! Gnu, i'd just finally gotten out of the habit of listening to Twisted Tenderness more than anyone really should, and now you go and give me perfectly legitimate cause to pop it back in again? for shame!

er, only thing i can think of off the top of my head is the Ice-T sampling that never came to be, except through promos. on "Make it Happen." and i know that version was up in the multimedia section of this site...

(and to tie even further topics together, Curve biting Johnny would perhaps be why someone would want Johnny not to point that gun at them...)

(the line to kick me for that terrible, terrible joke is forming just around the corner... ;) )

I wish Toni Halliday would take a bite out of Barney. Or three. That little pig has too much flab on him than is healthy and he's not likely to go on a diet sometime too soon is he? Come on Toni - sharpen those gnashers and let's see some hot steamy cannibal action....[and don't forget to brush yer teeth and rinse yer mouth out afterwards, dahhling... ;) ]

:D :evil4:

Man Gnu, I am certainly very Blonde then. I thought that o/t meant OFF TOPIC  ! Obviously I am pretty new to message boards-only been on for about two months! Give me a break please and forgive me if I have my BLONDE moments. It happens a lot :rolling:

I keep a speadsheet on which I tally up all posts on the forum having to do with football, a.k.a. soccer. Until I reach an equivalent number with my own posts, I exempt myself from appending "O/T" to any subject lines.

Strictly speaking, however, this board is reserved solely for posts about New Order, Joy Division, all the side projects, all other bands, football, drinking, hair color, travel tips, career aspirations, the scheduling, coordination, and recap of "piss ups," pointless trivia, jokes, investigation of multiple personality disorders, dream analysis, and transparent attempts at flirting. Posts on all other topics are frowned upon.

so Gnu...what you are telling me is that I have never, ever, posted anything that is on-topic?

Shit shit shit!!!!

Heck no, G.R. I had you covered with the "transparent attempts at flirting" line.

But doesn't Curve fall under "all other bands" ;) ;) FLIRT FLIRT!

i'd like to think none of the new order members sample stuff into their songs...i prefer new order to be 100% origianl beats and notes!

Ah, most of Get Ready is just full tracks sampled right off of old MC Hammer records anyway.

Someone mentioned a sample of Moby's "Porcelain" in "Player In The League," but to my ears it sounds like the string part from "West End Girls," but then I'm sure Barney would have nothing to do with the Pet Shop Boys. I wonder if it was lifted off a record, or if it's just a standard factory sample from the Emulator II stock library.

By the way, the above-mentioned snippet sounds like the backup chicks from George Benson's "Give Me The Night," and I'll just best guitar-monster Johnny Marr owns a bunch of George Benson records. Someone have a listen and give me an "Amen."

so Gnu, are you also saying that now isn't the time to bring up that super-secret remix of WIM that you did with the chanting changed around so that it was: "we're singing for cleveland!"

"CLEVE-ER-LAND!"

...?

just wondering. ;)

i'm afraid i must call you out for this. it's not George Benson 'tall.

it's Deniece Williams. :D

(and i in fact had photos from some article long since past featuring a young Johnny Marr kissing Ms. Williams on the cheek! sadly, they got tossed out with all the rest of my other article collection, so i can't show them to you. you'll just have to take my word for it. ;) )

and to bring this back to the main topic of FOOTBALL, another lovely kissy pic i wish i'd not gotten rid of was that lovely one with Liam Gallagher kissy-kissying Robbie Williams. mind you, i care for neither, but the photo was so great...

Ahhhh....so THAT'S why Robbie and Liam have been at war with one another for so long ever since then....? they're probably terrified stiff of any kiss and tells being let out into the open, thus they've been propagating this faux-rivalry for the tabloids and anyone else who would care to still listen...... ...yawwwwnnn.....
