Surprised to hear the bit about potential problem in paying his tax bill... I would have thought that he would be doing quite well...
Perhaps everyone related to Factory is to be forever financially doomed...

Not surprising thou' really... What does he do now? He's got some plastic position as artist laureate for Manc land or something and I'm not sure if he does much beyond the NO stuff which isn't exactly a demanding workload; even that he shares with 'associates'. If NO are / were brassic he'd be even lower down the salary scale somewhere between destitute and homeless!

Hmmm, that was a good couple of years ago now (2003 - when the Design Museum was on), so presumably he's either paid his tax bill, or living in his studio! :)
It seems that a lot of musicians/artists are not particularly good with finances, hence the owing of large tax bills, which is why quite a few them employ accountants (some of whom then take the aformentioned musician/artist for a ride)... Recent(ish) casualties have included Leonard Cohen, Billy Joel, etc...
