Amazing stuff. the copyright nazi's have shot a couple of them down, how silly....does ANYBODY here NOT own a copy of every one of those songs? Does anybody hold (or rather protect) the mechanical rights of the taper? Then at least us lot are legally allowed them as I understand copyright law at least in the UK, toe rags.

Download WINRAR (the first one, winrar 3.62 or whatever), it's free but will whine at you after a certain amount of time.
Double click on the rar file and the mp3's will appear therein, if you know zip files it's just the same.....if not, you select the ones you want (if you select no files it defaults to doing them all) and click "extract" (or "extract to") and it will ask you where you want to put them.
You can also just right click on a rar file and say "exrtact to".
Not sure if you can extract straight to a pod, but it's probably a good plan to shove them in with your other mp3's.
PS< there are Mac and Linux versions there too.
PPS, FWIW.....there is not a LOT of point, besides a convenient single file to download, in rarring mp3's...mp3 is "lossy compression", in that once you mp3, and back to, let's say .wav, you never get back what you started with. Because winrar is used to compress things like programs, obviously it must be "lossless", so that you can rar and unrar the same file from now til the end of time and still have a perfect copy at the end. As you can imagine, a system that's willing to let some data distortion occur, is going to squeeze the file down further than a system that must preserve the original at all costs. Therefor, rarring mp3's is silly, you gain compression only from, unused fileblocks and the uncompressed parts of the mp3's like the file header containing it's "windows name", details about it's technical spec, and it's ID3tag (the bit that feeds the little scroller on winamp or ipod, that tell you what's playing). An example....the High Wycombe gig, is a 75MB rar file, which uncompresses to no more than 77MB. Rar up 77MB of random (and uncompressed) hard-drive flotsum and winrar ( with the right options) will typically cane it down to about 20MB.
If you're wondering about file compression in general....think of rar/zip/tar an even gif an jpg as working like this.....

Taking 14 bytes.
There are a lot of other tricks, and the "lossy" types use even weirder ones, you can read all about how mp3 really works and STILL come away baffled.
