In the Substance version of "Lonesome Tonight", what the hell is going on at the end of it? Sounds like someone building up spit and spitting it out or hacking something like phlegm up. What the hell is this? :rofl: :scream:

Lonesome Tonight and As It is When it Was....

I dont like either of those songs. They each sound like four different insturments playing a different tune.I dont understand why so many people like them...and I like almost everything that NO have released.

lonesome,,has that typical order gloryios rising sytn part towards the end,, worth listening to for that.

as it is when it was,, as hooky is quoted as saying they even managed to rip themselves off on this ( l.w.t.u.a.) its difficult not to like it even allowing for the connection,

always remember this one went down well live,,,,,who knows when they play live again,,"heres one weve not played for 20 years"(2013 ,,high hopes.) theres more chestnuts in the old chestnut tree.!

Everyone knows that I can't stand Lonesome Tonight. But I just figured I'd bring it up antways.

The cover version on Community 2 (kREMLIN?) is probably the only NO cover I actually prefer to the original... And I love LT, so it must be good...

"Lonesome Tonight" is a nice little song, nothing too fancy, just there. Which is all I want to hear sometimes.

The excellent Community 2 has made me consider that there are some better versions of New Order songs than those produced by the group itself. Your Silent Face, Doubts Even Here, The Village, New Dawn Fades, Behind Closed Doors, ICB and Lonesome Tonight all fall in that category (IMO).
