Anyone heard of this?

Just got my regular update from METAMATIC,a John Foxx website about a new cd from the early 80s called "FROM BRUSSELS WITH LOVE" featuring a song called HAYSTACK with NO and KEVIN HAWICK.Here's the details.....

Originally released as a deluxe cassette/book package back in November 1980, "From Brussels With Love" featured a number of exclusive tracks from the international avant-garde and new wave, as well as the celebrated Factory Records roster. This new CD edition (which will be available at the start of the new year) has been digitally remastered from the original master tapes, and runs for approximately seventy-five minutes. Most of the tracks featured here remain unavailable elsewhere - including a couple of (albeit brief) tracks from John ("A Jingle #1" and "A Jingle #2") as well as material from Gavin Bryars, Harold Budd, Thomas Dolby, The Durutti Column, Brian Eno, Bill Nelson, New Order and Michael Nyman. I'm sure I had 'Haystack' once tacked onto the end of an old bootleg.

Nothing particularly special if i recall.

I like Haystack a lot. Probably one of the most rare New Order tracks.

Got me thinking - what's the most rare, obscure, hard-to-find New Order-related track?

I reckon it's 'Satisfied' by the Other Two.

Think Haystack was recorded a couple of weeks by the three remaining lads of JD serving as backing music after Mr. Curtis acted stupid one night. At least that is my understanding. I have to pull out my TWI 007 to hear it again.

Interesting tape and CD if it comes out again.

As usual James Nice at LTM has come up with the goods. Worth the money for the Durutti Column track alone:LTM Site - Only a tenner and available in January 2007.

Hmm ,was aware of that song for many many years but this is the first time i ever heard it .Cheers
