94's "CrazySexyCool" is a monumental album, don't care what anyone says. "Waterfalls", "Diggin' on You", "C.R.E.E.P." all great tunes.

Have some good memories of listening to CrazySexyCool - me and my housemate used to listen to it when we were getting ready to go out, in a girlie stylee..feel all sad now...:(
As well as a load of quality songs there were some great comedy skits in between them. The "arse-wiping" one was particularly funny. If you've heard the album you'll know what I'm talking about.
I've just been accused of being an ignoramus in our office as a result of my protesting that I didn't know any of her records, and was therefore less likely to give a toss than if it had been someone whose records I did have. That said, I'm still indifferent to the news.

Was thinkin' exactly the same thing meself Kezzie. Not listened to it in ages! R&B isn't normally my bag but as I said before it's a really special album. Glad I'm not the only person on the board who thinks so!
Must admit I've alway been a secret fan of TLC for the songs that have been mentioned above.
Though I thought that No Scrubs was probably their best offering which came after the 1st album - was she still in the band then?
"No Scrubs" came off the "Fanmail" album which came out in '99 and yes, she was still in the band. She died in a car crash in Honduras, which I think is somewhere in Central America.
On another sad note that big jolly bloke, Christopher Something, who hosted Liquid News died earlier in the week. 34 years of age.There but for the grace of God...

Any news on how he died? I enjoyed that show, saw the tribute to him last night.
It said in yesterdays Metro it was a barbituate overdose. Didn't mention whether it was deliberate or accidental though.

95% of R&B stuff is codswallop, but there is some quality to be found in the genre - TLC being my faves, and like I said, listening to them brings back some good memories. Their stuff just sounded really different when it first came out, not just treading the same old ground. Also partial to a bit of Kelis, Missy and Mary J myself ;)

Fantastic club called Harter Street Lounge here in MancLand that plays loads of quality R&B/HipHop/Old Soul&disco type bobbins, and Family Affair always gets the crowd rockin' :D

This weeks Evening Standard had a big piece on Chris Price, inferred it was being treated as suicide.
Last time I saw him on Liquid News, he was interviewing Hooky.
yeah i just saw it on nme.com. Sad, i really liked No Scrubs and Unpretty, even though i got laughed at by the indier than thou kids.

Check out the track Girls On Top that mixes TLC's No Scrubs with the Human League's Being Boiled available on Audio Galaxy - it sounds fantastic (done by Richie X who is responsible for the Numan/Sugababes single). It was rumoured to be released this sumer
Sad to see Christopher Price die too - Liquid News was essential viewing.

Can't disagree with that, though I don't like her song with Ja Rule very much.
As for TLC, I like 'em a lot. Ain't Too Proud To Beg is always good for getting a reaction.
I liked TLC well enough, even though modern R and B ain't my thing. Wasn't it almost exactly 7-8 months after Aaliyah when Left-Eye died? Sad news indeed, my sympathies to her family (and Layne Staley's too, even though I was never a fan of Alice In Chains)
