I recently picked up the 'Car Carry Case' for Low Life for £30. Anyone have an idea how rare it is and whether i've been done or not. Cheers

What do you mean by car carrying case?.. Is this for CD/vinyl or cassette?

I hope you havent been sold one of those large white cassette boxes that came out as a limited edition.

The Car Carry Cases were just flat cardboard sleeves with standard front and back artwork that came with early copies of the Factory NOJD CD albums.

They used to be worth a fair old bit but I've seen them going on eBay for next to nothing these days (I believe £50 Note auctioned one recently and it went for $0.01) a large amount of them have probably filtered out on eBay over the years thus reducing the rarity value.

At the moment all I've got just the one; a mint condition Unknown Pleasures.

Same thing with Factory CD singles which used to be worth 20-30 quid apiece in the late nineties but by today's standards you'll struggle to give 'em away. I have a spare Fine Time that refuses to shift :nonono: would've netted me at least 20 quid in 1998.

I'd forgotten about those.

I do have the Unknown Pleasures, Closer, PCL and Brotherhood ones. I had trouble finding Low-Life on CD when I acquired my first CD player (1987) and ended up buying a Factory issue from a friend. It has the rice paper insert but no carry case.

wElcome to the site and i always thought these are quite rare.I don't have this one and have only ever seen a picture of one.But if ALLY is saying they are not RARE then i will have to AGREE as he has extensive knowledge on collecting round these parts.Apart from NICK KING and NUTS i know of no others that seem to collect so much now.I think this is a great item to own though.I have the one for MOVEMENT and i really treasure it.My days of collecting are gone for now but maybe one day i will get the bug again if MONEY comes my way. HAPPY NEW YEAr Rocket Mick Ps i see you have been around FAR longer than i first thought but welcome again nevertheless:thumb:

I tried to get all these damn carry cases, but twas all in vain. Have to agree with ally,a few years back they were like rocking horse shit and commanded top dollar, but nowadays they do come up from time to time.Think you may have paid a little too much for them, but if its a nice item and you enjoy it then thats all that matters. :thumb:

Love that. Some Record shops here. If you're looking around certain sections of vinyl for a while or some such. The owners of the shops might- then decide to show a few items that were just! brought, came in.
