Didn't MOJO just do a JD special? Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but I seem to recall that it wasn't too long ago. Plus, finding current and in order issues of MOJO can be a bit of a pain, in Minnesota at least. Sometimes they will skip issues. *sigh*

Guess I'll have to keep on the lookout. *smile*

and yeah, mojo did a JD special just before WFTSC call came out, so i dunno how much more this is going to add the the mix. Stuff about Control i expect. The last issue had a nice section on Saville talking about some of the sleeves he did for JD/NO

It concentrates on the 'Ian Curtis' I knew theme, building up to the movie and re-issue tsunami this year. Interviews are with Richard Boon / Pete Shelley, Mick Middles, Terry Mason, Lindsay Reade, Tony Wilson, Vin Cassidy (Section 25), Genesis P. Orridge, Peter 'rent-a-quote' Hook and Gerard Way, The main article is by Jon Savage.

Nothing new really, Manchester gloomy, Curtis a laugh a minute, film crap etc.

Elsewhere in the magazine (Page 73) it asks whether 2007 will be 'the year of Joy Division'

I corrected something on wikipedia last night and ran across the article on Genesis P Orridge....okay, live and let live, but is there some kind of gender confusion thing going on with him? I was working at a store a long time ago and a black guy came in dressed up like a woman and people around me just started laughing at him. I can learn to accept people for who they are, its the dumbasses around me who can't. I like to understand things and adapt.

Anyway, I had the MOJO issue with Ian Curtis on the front in the trenchcoat smoking a cig/yellow font...from april 2005 i think. do they put out JD covers/issues every year or what?

why bother posting on message boards when everything you fucking say sounds like you have the IQ of a gnat? goddam it...i am tired,,,,

Several years ago, Genesis and his wife decided to celebrate their anniversary by getting matching breast implants. Gen started dressing like a woman in an attempt to become "genderless." I'm not sure what his reasoning is, but no doubt it's some kind of pretentious arty bullshit.

I thought we'd had enough Joy Division recaps in the media over the last 5 years. Pretty astonishing for a band that ended 20+ years ago. All these anniversaries and retros are running into each other. I'm all JD'ed out, before the (next) film has come out. Mojo touting them as band of 2007. How much more revisionism can we take ?

Personally I cannae fookin wait for all the stuff happening this year. That Mojo piece was good, I have just finished reading it (Cheers to Uncly John for dropping it aff)

Fucking hope these documentaries / dvd's contain ALL the TV Appearances / Factory Flick / Bowden Vale & Plan K in their "master" forms.

Looking forward to the film too.

If rumours are to be believed and we ain't gonna see New Order live again, it's a case of revelling in as much as is thrown at us :viking:

Yep, couldnae agree more, I can remember the first time I saw Bowden Vale, it was just so fucking good seeing that, must've rewound the vid and watched it six or seven times in a row.

I looked at page 96 in the mag showing a list of independent record stores in the states. I buy my music in both CD Alley and Schoolkids (there is one in Chapel Hill, not just Raleigh). :)
