A mate of mine brought it round. No idea where he got it from.

It was actually rather good. There was nothing new on there - classic footage from Something Else, Granada Reports etc combined with interviews with the usual suspects - Lesley Reade, Mick Middles et al. Its angle was to focus on the way the music matured quickly so it featured tracks like Warsaw, 24 Hours, Atmosphere, The Eternal . In particular it illustrated the influence of Martin Hannett on the band's sound. It also showed footage of some of the band's influences - Eno and Can in particular.

As I said, whilst there was nothing new on there, it was interesting and worth a viewing.

Anyone seen it?

I saw it and found it kinda boring...was hoping for more live footage and interviews with the band members, I guess.:\ohwell:

I ordered it a few months ago and was really looking forward to seeing it. I thought it was a bit boring.

This DVD has got a very bad press. However, I got a chance to see it recently and it was better than I expected. OK it only features snippets of low quality footage of Joy Division but some of the interviews are interesting. Barney Hoskins
always seems to have a pretty intelligent slant on JD.

Not sure I would pay money for the DVD but if you get a chance to see it I think you should.

I also got a copy of "Shadowplayers" the Factory Records documentary DVD for Xmas. The interviews on here are even better than "Under Review". Also this was the first time I had seen Anik Honore (Ian's Girlfriend) interviewed.
