The Smash Hits article thread

Sorry folks, but it crossed the line a bit with speculation about Bernard's divorce, so it has been consigned to the deleted posts area. I seem to recall we had a very similar thread before that caused quite a stir, so I've nipped this one in the bud before too much speculation goes on. Last thing we want is some kind of official complaint, as we know that Bernard was extremely unhappy about that article.

And, as Cambo said on the thread before it got deleted, what goes on tour stays on tour.

Feel free to discuss here whether they ever were on the cover of Smash Hits though!

It's an article that's in the public domain. I hardly see why speculation about it should be censored.

I'll always remember the thread for the wonderful display of trust that was shown for the rock star in question.

'I don't belive he would have done something like that, I'm sure it was all innocent fun!'

Yes, quite charmingly naive.

Ahem I THINK You may be missing the point of Tim's post Queenie.

Don't take it personally - I was only pulling your leg.

I understand your point perfectly. The picture has one obvious interpretation, but doesn't really mean anything on it's own. Interesting to read that the boys had been getting up the journos nose during the trip, I'd always thought the article seemed a bit vindictive.

Anyway, sorry if you felt like I was having a go at you, it really wasn't my intention.

This time :evil4:

It's all good.

And yeah, my other point was, the fact that the journalists were so annoying and seemed to have an attitude anyway. And how the band seemed really deadset on avoiding and annoying them back, that perhaps that was Barney making a big joke out of it and having them take the piss. Just seems too wacky for anyone to do publicly around a huge huge magazine on their tail. The mag is very questionable.

Well it was. Smash Hits stopped being published a couple of years ago because nobody bought it any more.

It wasn't really about proper music anyway, more like a comic about boy bands and stuff. Surprised they even bothered with New Order in the first place.
