This was brought up in the Ceremony thread and it's always puzzled me - why does Movement sound so different to the contempory single tracks i.e. Procession, EGG, Mesh, Cries & Whispers?
They are both from the same time, they are both produced by Hannett, so why the huge difference?

Perhaps because Movement was worked on as a whole and the other songs had distinct sessions/studios? Does someone know the session info for all the singles preceding Temptation?

ceremony was recorded in america and 2nd version u.k.
everythings gone green was recorded in strawberry studios ,stockport and its title comes from barney stepping into a bootifull stockport early morning ,, "bugger everythings gone green" right its back to gay disco then.
some of movement was recorded at strawberry,, its sound comes from hannets "direction" whilst later songs show a growing confidence and move away from hannet ,hence thanks for the computer programme but well produce this one ( temptation()

I think we know where and when etc well enough, to me the question was more along the lines of "why is Movement shrouded in fog when the other songs recorded around this era are clear and polished?"
Only six people would have known this, and two of them are no longer with us.
