ok, i chose these 20. i´m sure someone will say i forgot about one but to be honest i don´t think "the best" is outside this list.
personally i think the most memorable one is AOC, followed by LWTUA, SLC and Sunrise. any of those are good to show someone who doesn´t know him what´s Hooky about ;)
Out of this list i had to choose sunrise, it's a great riff, but there are so many it's very hard to choose. When I first got my bass, sunrise was first choice to learn.
I could come up with a list of what about... but there's little point.
Wise choice, I am also for 24 Hours. Other favourites for me include Komakino, Crystal and EGG.
Out of those, I can't seperate four. The three Joy Division ones - Twenty four hours, Transmission, and Love Will Tear Us Apart - will always remain special. Transmission is so repetitive and simple but the way it begins the song gets me everytime. Regret is so light and wonderful, it's classic melodic bass.
This is a fiendish question - I just can't narrow it down past about 6 and even then I'm not too sure!

Age Of Consent Sunrise Crystal Waiting For The Sirens' Call
The intro to What Do You Want From Me? is easily one of Hooky's most memorable riffs and End Of The World from the second Monaco album features one of his most complex solos.
Can't really think of any Revenge stuff probably because he had shelved his "New Order Bass sound" for most of their releases. Having said that there is an lead guitar line on Big Bang which sounds like it was written as a bass riff but switched to another instrument.
christ, too difficult. always loved slc bass and on a whim im now playing lonesome tonight. then might go to leave me alone as the mood and red wine takes. so I cannot say!

not my fave NO track, but a thumpin great bass line to open it 
Saw the thread & the one that instantly sprung to my mind was "In a Lonely Place"...pure class. the bass is just perfect on that track. but yeah, there are so so many to choose from.
My personal favourite is WDYWFM... great to listen to and play when I can be arsed to dig the bass out

Any one of the above...and numerous others far too many to mention, but in the end I voted for Crystal
To me, the best is "Marine" off the last Monaco CD. I loved it so much, I used this as my intro. walking into the reception after our wedding.
It is sublime.....

No mention for it thus far, but I think the outro to "Fine Time" has to be up there with the very best of them.

Transmission, because it's when Hooky became Hooky. But there are so many others, on this list and not on this list, that are worthy of equal consideration.

So I voted for AOC.
'Sunrise' for me, I love the way the bass progresses through the song.
I'd also argue that 'What Do You Want From Me' should be in there - one of the few songs that the general public recognise just from the opening bassline. Great track too
