OK, I've been a New Order / Joy Division fan for about 20 years now and have always wondered something.....why doesn't Hooky sing all the Joy Division songs when New Order decides to do them? His voice is PERFECT for it and he obviously can sing with the best of them given his performances for Revenge and Monaco.
Does anyone have any clue why Bernard is always up at the mic. during the classic Joy Division tracks instead of Hooky?

Same reason they made the useless fucker the singer in the first place. Hooky plays all the time and is not great at singing and playing at the same time, whereas, although Barney is not too much better at multitasking, his guitar, at least in JD songs, tends to work around the vocals.
His retarded busker style "comping" on his guitar in Shadowplay etc, is just plain wrong.
