How many others consider this one of NO's finer moments? I was reminded how much i love this song by the ing version on Pumped Full of, and I figured I'd see about opening a thread for fellow As It Is...fans to share the love.

I was gonna post on how much I like this track, but then I realized I was thinking of "Way of Life."
I do like the lyrical nod to "Low Life," though: The streets are so empty/at this time of night
The first time I ever saw New Order on TV they played As It Is and Sunrise - favourites of mine then, and still definitely favourites today. Must say I am still in search of hearing the perfect As It Is played LIVE - either they fuck up the guitars at the start - or Barney forgets the words

There isn't a single duff track on "Brotherhood" (the vinyl LP version that is, NOT the CD which adds the lyrically-wretched "SOTN"), so I don't really need to say more.

One of my very fave NO songs (Brotherhood is my fave album). About the only thing that I'll add to what I-D, Shug and the Martian have said is that I have never tired of listening to that song.

Yeah, it's definitely one that doesn't get old. I especially love the line about "running in the street where I was born" because it turns out Barney's old neighborhood growing up was torn down and made a toxic waste dump, thus he can never really go home again.
A great song from a great album. Lovely tune too.... It soundtracked a point in time in my life too, when things started turniing out for the better..... Oh aye....it certainly brings back fond memories for me....1986 was also the year I finally got my first ever scooter of my own....!!
