 My holy grail! Lift recordings! Cup smashing! N4 Europop! :faint:

I'm not saying I wouldn't listen to it, because anything could be interesting, but I'm saying I'm not forking out for it. :P

Well, the fact it's on CD makes it looks pretty like a rip-off to me. :skeptic:

Correction... it means they actually wanted to release new JD stuff out of old mixes? For some reason I thought it was in 1980.

I doubt Bernard will agree to that

Plus, any legit stuff won't have a "not a cdr" note... :eek3:

For the record, "N4 Europop" is "Decades". Source - T.Wilson backstage at Digital/Wilson gig in September.

If I'm not very much mistaken, the source of these CDs is the same guy who managed to produce that batch of melodicas that "Ian Curtis had given him at Leigh"........caveat emptor, that's all I'm going to say!

Perhaps we should take up a collection and do a weed.

Just a thought.

I'm fairly sure that the contents of these CDs are of genuine interest. They are being sold by a known bootlegger though and I don't recommend anyone pay £45 quid for it now.

It sounds like he's putting this out (like the others) so expect to see them in HMV soon for a little less dosh.

There will also be other means of getting it too...

since my knowledge of torrents is nonexistent, is there anyone willing to convert these babies to mp3?

Nooooooo!

If you read the seeders notes on PLG, he says they must not be converted to mp3.

1.Get yerself a torrent client (just Google utorrent) 2.Download the files via the PLG tracker (it's really easy) 3.Burn the flacs from your HD to a CDR using Nero or similar 4.Do what you like with them as long as you don't redistribute as mp3!!! 5.Finally, say thank you to the seeder on PLG for saving you £45!

First thoughts...

Does this confirm Ian was a United fan?

What did Hannett do to Insight? It sounds so much better on these 'dirty' versions...

This stuff is fairly unremarkable for the most part. We get a few of Hannett's sample experiments, like the lift from Insight, the glass smashing from I Remember Nothing, and the unholy wail from the start of Exercise One. The rest are just various composites that became tracks from the Closer sessions. Not much different from the finished versions, just a bit of instrumentation and arrangement changed around and some rough edges. Not too interesting, although Hannett tells Ian to fuck off at one point.
