Why does this boring, although completely rational, question warrant a thumbs up?

I'm with Steve on this one though.

To add that much needed little ray of brightness to your life!

Don't know that I'd actually pay money for any of them, but I voted Barney. Could go with Hooky too, and I think Hooky's would probably be more entertaining, but I'd just like to get into Barney's head a bit. Steve/Gilian pretty much interchangeable IMO. Could be a "touching human interest story" if they talk about their daughter being sick. Maybe Gilian could gripe about being deisrespected within the band or something, that might make for a few interesting pages.

I'd read them all eventually. Except for Phil's...I've already seen Annie the movie.

There isn't one that I'd read necessarily over the other. If Bernard popped out a book and laid things out on the line, that'd be really interesting because he's always talking about how guarded he has to be. Hooky's really lead a varied life and his book would have good selling points as The Rock N Roll Story, wouldn't it? S&G would give that geeky, humorous recanting of all the things we have never confirmed but assumed and would be good for a giggle.

And if Phil had one (though that would be weird in the sense of his youth) I'd give it a look over. In the library. Sorry, man.

I just like reading. If it is there and reasonably priced, I'm taking a look at it.

How was Gillian disrespected within the band? It always seemed to be like she was always respected. And shit, her husbands in the band and dont think he'd let her being treated like crap.

But other than that, I'd pretty much say what you've said. Barney and or Hooky. lol. But Barney seems more interesting psychologically, especially as being the lyricist.

Barney for the reason above. He's still quite mysterious to me; the more I see old live performances, the more I'm fascinated with him. Younger, he had this boyish looks and seemed shy at the beginning yet could be quite surly often times. I think he's also the most creative member, at least that's the impression I have. I also have the impression that he was the closest band member to Ian Curtis and it'll be interesting to learn more about their interactions. He is after all the co-founder of Joy Division, he and Hooky recruited Ian, he's the guitarist, the lyricist, the programmer and the vocalist. I sure would like to know the man behind all of that.

Well, there was that whole Play At Home episode where she had to get in the bath with a shriveled, wet Wilson. That overhead shot still makes me snicker. If that's not call for abuse, I dunno what is. :p

I would read them all, I suppose, but Bernard's and Hooky's would probably be the most interesting. It isn't going to happen though is it, unless they've kept diaries.

I think it's someone else writing a biography of Barney.

Well, as it happens.......there will be a biography of Bernard (unauthorised I think!) this year, and Hooky is writing a book (with Claude Flowers, apparently) at the moment. How autobiographical this will be remains to be seen.

To answer the question though, while they'd all be interesting, I think I'd like to know more about as it is now and how it was then from Steve.

I'd rather they spent the time in the studio or on the road, than writing a book... I'd probably read all or any of them, but it's not something I'd rush out and buy...
