For Guilt is A Useless Emotion.....Not really sure why nobody is into this song. It's quite dancey, its sing songlily catchy, and it's hi energy....It's much better than Jetstream or most of Waiting For the Sirens Call.....Don;'t tell me you prefer the sappy Turn?? I mean Turn is good, but cmon now! Guilt is so damn good what is up everyones anus with not loving it?

Well I think it's fookin' good, Guilt, one of my favourites on the album. And I'm right. 
Turn is better though 
I don't understand where you got the idea from that Guilt is not so appreciated. Many of us love it.

I think GIAUE is the strongest song on the album, both mixes. It's something you can listen and dance to -- classic New Order. I personally find Turn and the rest of the guitar-y songs on WFTSC to be kind of dull.
Definately one of the better tracks on the album,and imho the promo mixes are probably the best ever done for a new order release.

I think the album version's a crock of shit. Poor, poor effort.
Certainly improved things with the Mac Quayle effort though. Beefs it up immeasurably.
Great, no matter how you slice it. I would prefer half of the next LP to have this type of sound, the other half acoustic/guitar-y...like a "Brotherhood" that isn't half-assed!
Not an immediate favourite,& kind of ignored it until hearing/seeing it live at Blackpool last year where I was suddenly woken up to it.Appreciate it a lot more now,but in no way is it better than WFTSC.& where can I get hold of the U.S mixes,has anyone mp3'd them? When,& not very often at that,it comes up on ebay,it ends up going for a fookin' fortune
Its not bad, not brilliant. I like the verse but the chorus is a bit of a let down. The Dan Quayle (?) mix is far superior.
Turn is my favourite track off the album. Nothing comes close.
It has to be said I do prefer Turn over Guilt but only because the former is one of the best things they've released at any point in their career; a bona fide classic. Having said that they are two completely different musical styles and probably not that comparable at the end of the day. A fairer comparison would be something like WFTSC vs Turn or Jetstream vs Guilt.
Like others here I find the album version "alright" but it definitely lacks a certain oomph. The track really came into its own in remixed form; the Mac Quayle and Morel ones stand out a mile and it's just a shame they trickled out on scarce promo CDs.
The second single off WFTSC (instead of pishstream) should've been a double A side of Turn / Guilt Is A Useless Emotion with remixes spread out across 2 CDs:

Incidentally, how can you level an accusation of being "sappy" against Turn when Guilt has the following lyrics: "I want your love, I need your love etc" not exactly macho-macho.
Against the grain on this,like the album mix - dont care for the remixes. Although i very rarely like any of the remixes, its just a lazy part of promotion nowdays.
GIAUE does really sound like they found it on the end of the Raise The Pressure master tape and thought, "Shit,we should have used this. Stick it on the new order album".
I thought if I wrote that the network at work would probably ban me from viewing the thread again... It does that with rude words, like bum and poo and has also started to get a bit annoyed by more random things which is well gay!

have to agree that the album version is a bit lame compared to the Mac Quayle mix. great track though, on equal par with Turn imho but as was said before two completely different styles.
Hmm..well I think it's too much of a throwaway dance track....something that they could possibly write in thier sleep...but have chosen not to up untill now. That's why I don't like it, in addition to the annoying backing vocals.
By the way, what is uo your anus for thinking Technique is overrated?

I like this one because it does feel like good ol' New Order. The more rock stuff is good, but please pacify me with a nice dance track.
Recently, there seems to be a bunch of threads of people claiming that one song or album is better than the other.....set up a thread like that, and besides some people agreeing with you, there's going to be people disagreeing. It's all personal taste. I personally like GIAUE, but I don't feel the need to set up a thread denouncing those who don't like, and I don't feel the need to debate what songs are better than what.
All the backing vocals on WFTSC ruin certian songs, and GIAUE is one of them. Without the backing vocals the song would be great, but those backing vocals are just horrid.:bag:
I always skip the album version. The Quayle mix is good, but still not in my top 3 or 4 from the album.
And I agree - the backing vocals sound bad.
I love the song! I love the whole album actually, though I just can't get into Krafty, or take it seriously for that matter.
